Thru the course of having eaten at this Tex-Mex restaurant many years, it remains my favorite Mexican eating establishment as the food, delicious margaritas and the atmosphere are so perfect. Recently went for another dinner with my daughter mid-week and the margaritas, unique nachos (they are insanely delicious and so much easier to eat than the run of the mill, piled-on nachos at virtually every other Mexican restaurant I've eaten at), chips, salsa & heavenly guacamole were as expected...and the entrées so delicious my daughter insisted we bring home what little was still left on our plates for enjoying as a snack the next day. As I travel a great deal for work and eat at many different restaurants, I am very discriminate about food and have pretty high expectations about even the little things as well as the food quality. This place has remained the same for many years in everything from the high-quality food, excellent service and same appearance inside. And THAT is what so many of us want in places we have gone and eaten at year-after-year.
Highly recommend this excellent...
Read moreAmerimexican is my best description. Everything was good, but just fell short of being real Mexican or even TexMex. The pitcher of Margaritas was very good, upgraded with Carazone tequila was $30, and about 6 glasses. The queso was like melted Velveeta with ground beef and Pico. We could have chose chorizo but our daughter was with us. She had the chicken fingers and fries, generous portion. My wife had the Chimichanga with ground beef. She liked it. I had the seafood enchiladas with shrimp and crawdads. And a side order of pork tamale. The tamale was good but they drenched it in enchilada sauce... The enchiladas were good with large shrimp but small crawdads. And it was topped with processed chess again. Service was acceptable. We had to ask for our daughters refill, some extra napkins, and a place setting. If you are in the area give them a try. If they made a few changes this could be a great place worth the...

Their rice and beans are cooked in lard! When I asked if they have vegetarian beans they said they have a small batch they cook separately, but if you conceal that you use an animal product that is not only not eaten for dietary but religious reasons for some; my trust is slim.
I got the taco salad with no beans or meat. It was OK, but their idea of Mexican cheese is cheap deli sliced white and yellow American cheese rolled together and cut into strips. Not authentic chihuahua or cotjita cheese.
I know this restaurant is in Sandwich, but I still expected better. I will endeavor to Yorkville for more authentic and transparent dining. Also, they have no draft beer; only...
