Star 34 Café — Restaurant in Sandwich Township

My tables ordered a waffle, the country steak and mashed potatoes with gravy, the pork tenderloin sandwich and two bowls of french onion soup. The soups were cold, and had 12 large, soggy croutons in EACH bowl and tasted like oregano more than onions and neither came with the best part: gooey broiled cheese. The waffle was lovely, i have no complaints about it. The pork sandwich was simply mediocre. The steak and potatoes was DROWNED in brown gravy that was so over salted that it was inedible. The vegetables my meal came with were soggy, overcooked and cold. I sent my order back and asked for two fried eggs and toast. They brought my eggs without my toast, and by the time my toast arrived, my eggs had gone cold.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The food is absolutely delicious and a vast majority of their food is from scratch. Ordered the corned beef hash skillet last time we ate there and was asked if I minded having to wait a little because they make their corned beef hash from scratch. It was worth the wait with giant chunks of real corned beef and fresh potatoes. Tonight their dinner special was pot roast. It was so flavorful, tender and delicious and the portions are huge. We got it to go for our family and each container was overflowing with food. Every bite there was more pot roast hiding under the veggies and mashed potatoes. Great value for homemade delicious food. We have heard many good things about the cafe and Let's just say the food did not disappoint. Our breakfasts were delicious with a good portion. The service of this staff is above welcoming and a pleasure to be around. My friend is a military veteran who has a service dog and the staff could not be more polite about his furry friend being with us. They made sure our table was comfortable for our situation, and even at my friends request brought the dog a bowl of water.
