I Survived Eiko.

Ratings are suspiciously inflated. Do NOT recommend.

The menu proudly states "All our dishes are freshly made to order!" WELL... My friend ordered the Bao Bao buns. They came out minutes later, steaming hot with suspicious texture. They were clearly MICROWAVED! Like, from a frozen pack you can buy for a couple bucks at Walmart. Gordon Ramsey, get on this!!!

I ordered a Thai iced tea for $5. They brought me a can.

I also ordered a simple salmon avocado roll. The avocado was brown and overripe, and the salmon tasted deplorable. Overly and unnervingly greasy, leaving a strange-tasting film that coated my mouth and throat. The way the salmon split between my teeth tasted like suffering. As a self-titled sashimi connoisseur, something about that salmon was just not right. I could only stomach 2 bites before I questioned if this particular ration would lead to food poisoning.

This place is just weird. The late hours are great but unfortunately I suspect that's the whole business model for this place. The food did not meet any expectations. Open till 3:30 a.m., Multiple TVs blasting sports channels like it's Buffalo Wild Wings--would not recommend unless some serious energy is invested into redecoration, vibe curation, and quality sashimi that isn't a medical litigation...

Everyone's selling point was quality food for a really random time of night. We went in around midnight, and they were still really busy throughout our stay. Their prices are mildly high. When you come in it isn't clear if you're supposed to seat yourself or wait to be seated, and it's especially complicated because most tables do not look like they've been cleaned more than a mall food court.

The menus were sticky, and the table was somewhat sticky. Amongst the three of us with a drink and main plate, it was $67 total. Our three meals were brought out separately. Minimum ten, more like fifteen minutes between each other. This meant the first person who received their food was done eating way before either my friend or I got ours. A lot of the food was questionable, carrots were not cooked, noodles were tasteless, fried rice smelled like rubber, and sushi was a 5/10.

Our waiter was extremely kind and helpful throughout everything. It would've been cheaper and better to go...

"Very fair priced and good sushi. They are also open late which is a plus."

EDIT I have been going to this place long before it was Eiko and new owners. It USED to be a hidden gym. Very well priced. Huge slabs of fresh fish. And has always been open late. Recently, since about mid 2020 it was purchased by the current owners and has gone down hill a lot.

I have been to Mint Tapas and Sushi down the road, Sake Sushi off highland drive, Itto sushi off fort union and Tsunami in the union park plaza along with maybe 50 other sushi restaurants in my life. Aaaand Eiko is pretty bad. Like Red Dragon off 3300s and state bad.

Like super low quality and hopefully I don't get sick bad but at fairly similar prices to places that are good.

I want this place to stay open and would love to continue to support but unless there's a big shift in quality or decrease in price I just cant do it. Too many other places trying to do good by their customers by providing quality food for me to...

Great food and good prices. They are open til midnight!!!! (Coolest factor) They dont have many drink choices. Could use some more teas perhaps like ginger tea. The donburi poke bowls are good as well. They will let you in to dine in at very few tables but there is no bathroom fyi. The outdoor seating is ok as well. The worst part was the customer service from the guy running the counter. Very off-putting and rude attitude. Not helpful at all. They also dont sanitize the menus in between people. We used two of them and the guy at the front just handed them without sanitizing to others that walked in 5 mins after us.
