If you're looking for the perfect blend of cozy, welcoming vibes and top-notch service, look no further than Gyp's Tavern in Sussex County. Nestled on the tranquil shores of Kittatinny Lake, this spot is more than just a place to grab a drink—it's a home away from home.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, at-home feeling that instantly puts you at ease. The inviting atmosphere, coupled with the picturesque views of the lake, makes Gyp's Tavern a standout in the area. Whether you're a local or just passing through, you'll feel like you're among friends.

Speaking of friends, Kristen, our bartender, deserves special recognition. Her fantastic service and friendly demeanor make every visit a delight. And let's talk about those Bloody Marys—they're simply the best in the world. Seriously, I’ve never had one better. They're a must-try for anyone visiting.

Gyp's Tavern is more than just a great place to eat and drink—it's an experience. Whether you're unwinding after a long day or looking for a place to enjoy good company, Gyp's Tavern is the place to be.

This place is the poster child for the phrase "First impressions can be deceiving". A small rectangular building in the back of a large parking lot but when you walk through the door the whole world changes. Order your drinks and perhaps something to eat walk around the side of the bar step down into the pool room then step out onto the patio and onto Lake Kittatinny. You can sit at a table or you can walk over to the side and sit in an Adirondack chair... read a book just relax and the troubles of the day just definitely disappear. Business is owned by veterans. I can't think of a better way of paying them back for their service then frequenting this wonderful Oasis hidden right in the middle of all todays stress. ... Just watch out for...

Norm!!!! Gyp's will not disappoint. If you like bars, REAL bars, you'll be right at home at Gyps. On a cool breezy day you can sit outside with a lake view, have a great burger, and listen to a great jukebox. The beers are pretty cheap compared to NY standards. Favorite shirt reads, "Hey vegetarians... my food poops on your food." (with a picture of a cow pooping on vegetables) Going NW on 206, it's just past the Gasarama, on the left. Coming SE on 206 it's just past Stokes State Forest, on your right. Great new owner served our country in the USAF. Tell em Brooklyn Cliff sent...

What a great spot located right on Route 206 with Kittatinny Lake as a beautiful backdrop. Although I am a good hour from the Branchville area, I make a point to stop in for a cold beer and sit out back where tables/chairs overlook the serene lake. Also recently had dinner there and the bratwurst sandwich was great and under $10. I also understand they have a different variety of food trucks that visit the bar (The dates and times are posted at the bar and on Gyp's Facebook page). Bartenders are very friendly too!
