Max's Place — Restaurant in Sanford

This place has been around for 28 years. I'm absolutely sure every local knows about it. It is take out only.

I got an Italian hot sub, which is served in a pizza crust canoe and stuffed full of awesome flavor. Twelve inches of perfection. I've never had a sub in a pizza crust canoe. Everyone should try one! The sub was $13.50 which would seem high till you see and taste this masterpiece. Worth every cent. It was way too much to eat in one sitting so I will get to enjoy it again later tonight.

The young man at the counter was extremely nice. I went in thinking it had a dining room, which it doesn't. So I ordered and he told me it would be about twenty minutes. I went to my car and waited. He bothered to run it out, knowing I was out here. He made sure I had a paper plate, napkins, and plasticware.

It's definitely worth a drive to pick up. It just might be hard to keep from picking at it on...

I would have to give a 5 out of 5 for this place. My fiance and I were just doing some back road driving and almost went passed this lil gem. We were looking for a hole in the wall place neither one of us has eaten at before and well.....we found her. Portions are out of this world. Price is perfect. Service is with a smile. They have the best gourmet sub you could ever sink your teeth into I don't think they call it that I believe it's the combo sub now you used to be able to get it at Pizza King when it was open next to the sports shop in Sanford you'll want to get the 18in though because you'll want the second half that you cannot eat until later and eat it cold still delicious than bynum for over 40 years maybe that's why...
