Saratoga Bagels — Restaurant in Saratoga

Attention East Coast Transplants (and bagel lovers)! After an EXTENSIVE search for something close to an east coast/NJ/NY bagel, we found Saratoga Bagels. PROBLEM SOLVED, LOOK NO FURTHER.

These are the best bagels we've found in the San Jose/Los Gatos/Saratoga area. Firm outside, softer inside without being spongy and just the right taste. We've had the staples: plain, sesame, whole wheat sesame, combo ("Everything" for us from the east). Just awesome. My teenage son is a fan of the Asiago and Cheddar bagels as well. They are delicious.

Not sure if they have whitefish salad or chopped liver like the authentic jewish delis in NYC/NJ, but having access to the bagels and fresh cream cheese is just fine for us!

No comment on the sandwiches or other things in the menu; we have not tried them. If you enjoy spongy bagels ala Noah's or novelty rainbow bagels, well, suit yourself. But if you're looking for as close to a real bagel in the area, swing by Saratoga's. See you early...

I've become a semi-regular here, since it's perfectly situated at the halfway point between my home and the winery where I spend my weekends (working! not drinking. ok, mostly not drinking). I've come to rely on their bagels to keep me sustained throughout the day.

I'm a purist when it comes to bagels, so I always order the same thing everywhere: everything bagel toasted with plain cream cheese. And it's delicious here. The bagels themselves are really good quality and freshly made each day. If you wanted to branch out, there is a big menu of breakfast & lunch sandwiches you could get on a bagel. I did try one of these once, but I just really like to keep it simple.

The staff here is very friendly and dangerously close to learning my name (I really only come a few times a month, I swear). It's always pretty happening in here on a weekend morning around 10:30, but they'll get your order to you pretty fast and you'll...

Drizzly wet morning and I felt that the morning breakfast should have some simple warm bagels with smear. Better half wanted something grander, so appease us both we ordered delivery from Saratoga Bagels.

We were not disappointed . Saratoga Bagels sent us their best from their menu and we had the most satisfying Weekend Morning Meal without getting out of our house

The Poppy Bagel The Sesame Bagel The Deluxe Sandwich with Whole Wheat Bagel. The Sausage Omelette Sandwich with Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel.

We divieed up the above, each of us getting a hearty half of each item ordered and then devoured them with gusto!

Each was made well and stuffed to almost impossible levels (in the sandwiches) .
