I write this review with a heavy heart, as my family and I have been patrons of Long Doggers for over a decade. We've seen it grow, evolve, and serve delicious food with a smile, all while creating a sense of community. For these reasons, our recent experience at Long Doggers has left us saddened, dismayed, and feeling disrespected.
Last night, our cherished family ritual turned into a nightmare. As we walked into the familiar yet vibrant setting of Long Doggers, we were greeted not with the usual calming ambiance but with an overwhelming pandemonium. Multiple groups of children, 15 to 20 in number, were running, yelling, and coughing through the restaurant. It was an unusual sight, and it was immediately clear that this wasn't the Long Doggers we knew and loved.
While children having fun is usually a wonderful sight, the lack of control and etiquette displayed by these groups was disturbing. Even more disappointing was the management's silence on this issue. Not only was the noise level disruptive, but the uncontrolled coughing also raised health concerns, especially in the ongoing pandemic era. Despite the chaos, the staff seemed to turn a blind eye, which is not what we've come to expect from Long Doggers.
We arrived at the restaurant at 7:20 pm and managed to place our order within 15 minutes despite the distractions. However, the food didn't arrive until 8:30 pm, a significant delay that certainly didn't help the situation. The delay not only tested our patience but also spoiled our appetite.
The final straw came when we decided to leave, disappointed and famished. No one from the staff addressed our concerns or even acknowledged our inconvenience. The only solace came from a fellow patron, who empathized with our plight and agreed that the treatment we received was utterly unacceptable.
As regulars, we feel let down by Long Doggers. The negligence displayed by the staff, the disregard for our loyalty, and the disheartening dining experience have led us to rethink our association with Long Doggers. We hope that this review will serve as a wake-up call for the management, who we believe can turn things around.
It is with regret that we say our last visit to Long Doggers was indeed our last. We look back fondly on the many good times we've had here, but sadly, the recent experience was a deal-breaker. We believe in the spirit of Long Doggers, and we sincerely hope that they can find it again. For us, however, it's time to find a new...
Read moreNo restaurant can be perfect100% of the time. It is just not possible. However, the way a restaurant manager reacts, responds and recovers from a slight mistake says a great deal about the establishment. We visit this particular Long Doggers about once a month, sometimes two. Why? Well, everyone can get something that they will like. The staff are super friendly. The restaurant is always clean and the food is really good. The fries are awesome! On our most recent visit, we did have one issue. My burger was VERY undercooked. When I called the waitress over, she noticed it right away. She knew exactly what the issue was. She asked everyone else at the table if their food was cooked properly before she left to ensure there weren't other issues. I waited about 7 minutes and a new burger and hot fries appeared right in front of me....delivered by the manager, Ericson. He said, 'That burger was way undercooked and I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do?" Everyone at the table said 'No' in unison and we advised him that we visited his establishment frequently. We told him we knew that this 'issue' was uncommon. He smiled and indicated that while yes that was true, it was still his responsibility to ensure we were happy and that the food was cooked properly. His demeanor was perfect: humble, responsible, quick to act, appreciative of our business. We assured him we were not upset and that all was good. We finished our meal, paid our bill and were walking out the door when Ericson handed my wife a gift certificate to express his apology for the undercooked burger. While some would say that was necessary, we felt otherwise because Ericson runs a tight ship and we know how infrequently his employees make mistakes. Ericson is a HUGE asset to Long Doggers and we are fortunate to have him manage our local Long Doggers. And here's a shout out to our waitress, Darcy. She was awesome as well! She didn't bat an eye when showed the issue. Very professional and super friendly. We will be back and we hope Ericson gets a raise so he...
Read moreNow, now, hear me out. I'll explain my reasoning of why I gave it a 3 star instead of a 5 star for Long Doggers. The atmosphere in here was good. Having buddies and getting drunk here would be a blast to experience. I also feel that future sports events would be great. Let's get into the difficulty of this 3 star. The service was alright. They were super nice, but a little too convincing. I don't understand that if you are willing to get a burger, it should come with fries for $12. Why would someone pay a burger for $12. Can you believe that you still have to pay for some fries for anything you order instead of the basket. Looking at the pictures. If asked for some fries with a meal, you will get a reduced amount compared to ordering a side basket of fries. They won't tell you if it was extra on your bill or will be a substitute for another protien for your meal. The burger itself was average and can be compared to a steak and shake burger, maybe a tad bit worse than a stake and shake burger. The Tico Pico Bowl was interesting to think about. At first, the presentation was amazing, but tasting the entree, it didn't bring the flair I thought it would bring. It's either a strong taste of beans or tomatoes with each bite. The overall meals, I would say, the fries and drinks were the best food selection I could have gotten. The fries were crispy and tasty, not to salty. Overall, Long Doggers feels like a restaurant, but the food tastes like a fast food place. It's overpriced and will nickle and dime the customer for everything and won't tell you about it. Honest is the best policy, and I wish the food and waitress were honest with me for my personal being and my stomach. Good to try for one time, but until they fix their food to become a five-star, I won't be coming back here...
