Diner Inc — Restaurant in Sauget

A workout buddy of mine along with her co-worker agreed to visit The Diner in Sauget for breakfast this morning after an exhausting workout. I already knew they were in for a treat since I've visited the establishment on several occasions bringing others to enjoy delicious, wholesome, plentiful food. Upon our arrival we were allowed to seat ourselves. The atmosphere was chill and friendly. The service is impeccable. The food presentation looked liked the way it tasted, DELICIOUS!! I've never had a bad meal (breakfast & lunch) from this place. The prices are reasonable especially for the amount of food you receive. I'm never able to finish my meal which is really two meals in one (Lol). Nevertheless, we all left very satisfied with our leftovers. The Diner is definitely one of my "go tos" and I'm sure my buddy and her co-worker will return and tell others about their delicious encounter...

This is a solid breakfast choice that has been serving up the blue collar workers at the neighboring plants for years. In my experience, their food is consistently good and cheap. Service can be a little snippy, but not in a rude way, if that makes any sense; when they're busy they've got a LOT going on and they have tons of regulars whose orders they already know. To that end, it reminds me of when I lived in NYC: know what you want to order by the time you're getting your server's attention to order. Simple.

Their haystack is my favorite menu item.

You might not want to drink the tap water, and bring surrounded by smokestacks doesnt exactly make for great ambiance, but food and service...

Disappointed. I was on my way to the dinner but I knew they were going to be closing in about 30 mins. So I called to give then my order so they could prepare it and I wouldn't be holding them up. They said they don't take phone orders this closed to closing and I would have to come in and pay for it first. I could have paid for it over the phone so they knew I was coming. But they didn't even let me pay for my order so they could make it. Last time I showed up 5 mins to close they said i had to have Called it in...
