I have the McDonald's app. The first time I used it to gather our order in the car and find out what deals we could get. We placed our actual order in the drive-thru in Sauk City, Wisconsin (since one of the things we wanted didn't show up on the app: hash browns), and showed a QR code at the payment window for our freebie. Worked pretty well. Our second experience was yesterday, at the same location. This time everything we wanted was in the app so I decided to place the order in the car. I got everything in the cart, including our deal (a free medium french fry), input our payment credit card info, then submitted the order. It went through fine, and the app then went to a screen telling me to click a link when we arrived at the store. When we pulled in, I did that--the app told me to pull into a curbside pickup parking space, and enter the number on the sign. I did that...but that's when the problems started. Once I put the number in and submitted it, the order bounced back three times, telling me things on our order weren't available, though it wasn't telling me WHAT wasn't available, and it wasn't clear if my credit card had been charged each time. Finally I got an option to just go through the drive-thru and tell the order taker our order number instead, which we did reluctantly because the drive-thru was PACKED on a Friday night at dinner time. We gave the order taker the number (RG58), she confirmed she had it and told us to pull around to the payment window. We asked if the order showed up as paid, but she said she couldn't tell us until we got to the window (???). As we were pulling forward, the offer very briefly showed on the order screen next to the car...and I noticed we were getting charged for the medium fry. My husband said he'd deal with it when we got to the window. When we talked to the (very rude) woman there, she blew us off: "Once the order has been entered via the mobile system, I don't have any way to alter it." Frustrated, we collected our order (which came out exactly as placed, thank goodness) and moved on. I'm wondering how many times we got charged for this order, though, and will be checking our credit card statement closely. Not a great app experience by a long shot, McDonald's. You're an enormous corporation, so I hope you can correct the issues with your app sooner rather than later. Curbside pickup isn't going away soon thanks to...
Read moreTerrible Service! Cashier assumed we wanted meals, gave us small cups when all sizes=Same cost. Took over 20 minutes for 2 for $2 cheeseburgers. We ate inside for them to have our meal in a bag sitting at counter when we had a number. Manager brought it over to say there was no number 4 order when we were handed number 4.We asked about the wait and manager took our number and slammed it on the counter then turned around quickly to glare back at us. The whole time i sat and ate the manager proceeded to glance back at me along with the cashier the whole time i ate. Felt very uncomfortable as i was being stared at the whole time that they were apparently "so busy". BRING IN HAPPY and RESPECTFUL...
Read moreBest service I've ever experienced at a McDonald's. After reading the other reviews I was a bit leery, but my husband and I were blown away by the friendliness of the employees. Food was fresh, and after ordering they said "Just sit down, we'll bring it to you" and the woman who delivered the food was incredibly sweet. They know regulars by name and stop to say hi, and they greet every customer. It is very clean and nicely remodeled with self service kiosks. I don't know if it's under new management or what the difference is from previous customer experiences, but I highly recommend this McDonald's! It's not every day you feel the need to...
