Friday night the wait was 45 minutes so we went elsewhere. Tonight we gave it another try and only had to wait 20 minutes for a table. As we were waiting a gentlemen was leaving and said, “good luck” as he walked by. We were not sure how to take that...
The table (painted picnic table) was dirty and sticky!! The menu was horrible for the kids. Only three choices with none of them anything special (hot dog, Mac and cheese or cheese flatbread) All the kids had soda and lemonade except the youngest.... she got apple juice. The drink arrived in a bottle. We asked for a cup and straw and the waitress acted as if we were putting her out. The shrimp roll was nothing to brag about and the worst we have had since we have been in town. No butter on the toasted roll... the shrimp was tiny and seemed to only have a bit of mayo on it. On the side was chips. $100 for dinner that was nothing special. As we were leaving another family was just getting seated. They quickly left and we overheard them talking about the menu wasn’t going to work for them. This is a nice location and seemed like a good place for dinner but... there are many other choices close by that offer quality dinner options. Will not be...
Read morewe decided to stay and eat here on the deck instead of taking the lobsters home....BIG MISTAKE!!
The service here is horrible. Each of our twin lobster dinners (there were 5 of us) came with one small container of "butter" - I put butter in quotes because it wasn't even really butter - the little cup was almost all oil with little to no butter. All you lobster lovers out there know that REAL melted BUTTER is what adds to the flavor. And when we asked for additional "butter" we were told that we didn't need any. We each had two lobsters and the little container is definitely not enough if you eat the entire body.
We also received just one napkin per person and after we sat down with our meal, not one person came to check on us to see if we needed anything.
My suggestion to anyone going to Bayleys is to just take it home and cook it there. It will be far...
Read moreThe lobster rolls here were bigger than others we'd had around the area. Very good, light flavor, and with chips and coleslaw, cost $18. As of now, the times on the building said the pound closes at 7 p.m. and the bar at 8 p.m. We ordered from the bar and took ours to go and it was ready in 10 minutes. The couple before us in line wanted to eat on the deck. They were told the wait would be 1.5 hours but it was 30 minutes. Since we arrived before close, we wondered if the staff told the couple before us the wait would be that long to deter them? It seems unlikely a server or hostess would say the wait would be 1 hour longer than it actually would be. We received our food, ate down the road, and as we walked back to our car, that couple was just getting seated. Check the tides before you go if you don't want the mud flats, low tide view...
