Our family of 9 ( 5 adults and 4 children) had dinner on July 26 2024 at Sea Dog Brewing in Scarborough, Maine We were seated at a large table towards the back of the restaurant which was great. Our waitress - Paula D- did not ask if we wanted separate checks or all together. She was rude to us all of the time that we were there. Some examples… we asked if we could have water for the table, she brought 2 and walked away while we were trying to clarify that we all would like water. When we were ordering our meals, she argued with my son- in-law about his order. He wanted fish and chips but asked for Tator tots and Cole Slaw instead of the fries. She argued with him about the change he wanted to make for his meal and he said that he didn’t mind paying for the up charge. She still argued with him. I ordered the haddock sandwich and when I said I wouldn’t want the Cajun mayonnaise on my sandwich she said… a careful reading of the menu would show you this!! When the bill came it was on one check. I took the bill to her and asked if she could split my husbands and my meal from the rest of the bill. She argued with me right on the floor and said I was being rude. She eventually brought the two bills to us. She added a 20% gratuity to each bill. We were not told this would be the case. We figured out that she didn’t have to be nice, accommodating or friendly to us because she knew she was receiving a 20% tip no matter how she treated us. If we ever chose to visit this restaurant again I would request to not have her as our waitress. Very disappointed about our...
Read moreWe visited Sea Dog Brew Pub on a Wednesday evening with our family of four. We were seated right away, even though the restaurant was busy. Our server was new, but he was very friendly and attentive. He took our drink orders and brought us our menus. We decided to order a variety of dishes to share. My wife ordered the Beyond Burger, which she said was very good. I had the Sea Dog Stacker, which was a large burger with bacon, cheese, and grilled onions. The burger was good, but the bun was a bit bland. Our children ordered chicken tenders and the kids burger, which they ate all of. Overall, we had a good experience at Sea Dog Brew Pub. The food was good, the service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
Pros:
Large selection of beers on tap Friendly and attentive service Good food Reasonable prices
Cons:
Can be loud, especially near the bar Buns could be a bit more flavorful
Overall: Sea Dog Brew Pub is a great option for families and groups looking for a casual meal with a good...
Read moreThis place is easy to find, access, and exit. It is fully handicapped accessible. We stopped in for a late lunch around 2pm on a Monday. We were seated promptly where we requested. Our server was attentive, but was unable to answer specific questions about beer varieties and did not know the glass size for flights - 3.5oz. Flights cost more, but do not provide more. The Porter, to me, tastes like a cold hazelnut coffee - unappealing. The IPA is good, very hop forward, slightly dry and bitter - not bad. The ale is a good, well balanced beer and easy to drink. The stout is a good, balanced, easy drinking beer. We ordered a haddock sandwich and a pretzel; both are good. The mustard that came with the pretzel has a surprise ingredient of horseradish. It'll clear your sinuses and compliments the beers and the doughy pretzel pieces. I'd go back for sure. If you found this review to be helpful please consider adding a...
