My friend and I had a wonderful dining experience at New Delhi last weekend. This is a family owned business that has been in Schaumburg over twenty years (28?) as Raoul , who greeted us, explained when we showed up with the intent of dining in. The restaurant is not open for dining in yet due to staffing issues post pandemic. However, Raoul did not want to disappoint us so he agreed to accommodate us . The menu is not entirely full yet for items such as Tandoori but Raoul gave us some curry dish recommendations that were out of this world . The naan bread he recommended to dip into my sauce was the icing on the cake . Both my friend and I were happy to have delicious leftovers the next day. The entire meal was so pleasant that I just had to post what a great experience it was. Raoul was so genuinely friendly and accommodating that I can only imagine how great this place will be once they are back in full swing again. They are open for carry out right now and I would highly recommend taking advantage of that. Raoul also said his father was the chef which we didn’t know until we raved about the food. If you want to have a great Indian meal and help a small business during these difficult times this is the...
Read moreI'm not incredibly familiar with the area but I decided to reach out of my comfort zone and go for some Indian food for dinner by myself. Upon entering the restaurant I was immediately approached by a woman with a big smile. She was very welcoming and made sure I sat in a spot where I felt comfortable and continuously checked in on me.
I then met Rahul (owner's son) who came to my table and asked how I was doing/poured me some water. Rahul walked me through the menu and really gave me great insight based off my preferences and spice levels. He recommended a few dishes to me and I ended up going for the Chicken Pasanda with a medium+ spice level (Rahul recommended).
It was absolutely delicious. Rahul also asked if I had ever had Naan before and I told him I was not a huge fan of bread. He insisted I try it and OMG was I missing out in life. Even though I was by myself at dinner, Rahul made sure to make me feel like I wasn't. Constantly checking in on me, refilling my water, but most importantly creating a very welcoming environment.
Looking forward to going back and bringing my coworkers...
Read moreThis is such an amazing restaurant- only got to know of it because of my fiancée who has been a regular customer since her childhood. Recently, I’ve seen customers get angry/upset and just leave the restaurant because their order hasn’t been taken for a while or because they haven’t received proper service. What I don’t think people understand, is that this restaurant is only being managed by 3 people and believe it or not, the food is definitely worth trying. It’s Indian restaurants like New Delhi with unique flavorful dishes that we want to see open in the Chicagoland area, not just another chaat place. So many Indian restaurants have closed down recently and I’d hate to see another restaurant that hits so close to home to close too. Everyone should show this place more love! I know the ordering process will take a little longer than usual, service won’t be amazing, but at the end of the day you’ll fall in love...
