Zel's Roast Beef — Restaurant in Schererville

Been going to zels since I moved here in 1980. Different locations but now only the schererville location. They have really slipped. The prices have gone up but then I expect that. The beef sandwiches used to be so big I would pull out some of the beef out because it was so huge. The amount of beef has slowly been decreasing. Last time we were there a few months ago we noticed the difference. Tonight it was ridiculous. The sandwich was so scrawny. Mostly bun. The fries were undercooked to the point they were slightly raw. We threw them away. Our dinner was a total bust. Will not go back ever again. Too bad as we always loved them. But we did give them a second chance. Guess we will go to pepinos...

The food was good. However, I did not get the peppers and extra BBQ sauce I requested. It was disconcerting that despite a sign on the door saying no entrance without a mask there was a man standing by the counter without a mask. He had a friendly conversation with the woman at the counter. I guess it's acceptable to ignore the rules if you are a friend of the staff. Next time I will walk out and order elsewhere. I asked when I called in the order if I should go to the drive thru and I was told to...

Food is not bad but the people that work there are horrible at custom service. Ask for two roast beefs ... Get a bill for 10, asked them to change it to two. The little girl they have working proceeds to cop a attitude with me and say I repeated the order 3 times ... Which she honest to God didn't.

Can't also count how many times I've tried the drive thru in the past to be ignored and not waited on by the staff till I just had to leave. They need to re hire staff there, that acts like the...
