Taqueria Allende Homestyle Mexican Food — Restaurant in Schertz

My husband and I came back from a trip to NC and we had been hitting all the Cracker Barrels on the way back. We missed Mexican food, so we were looking for one with an, homestyle taste and were very pleased to have found one off Hwy-10. It's a little tricky to get there due to all the construction, which I'm sure is hurting this small business in some way, but don't let the congested traffic discourage you. It's so worth it. They have authentic sodas from Mexico with pure sugar cane, not that crazy corn syrup they add in most stores. I had a carne guisada taco with their homemade corn option, and it tasted just like my mom's cooking, tender and delicious. I highly recommend the chilaquiles in green sauce with cream. While driving by and searching for a quick bite, we stumbled upon this gem of a Mexican restaurant. What a find! We ordered 2 chorizo and egg breakfast tacos, 1 barbacoa taco, and a bacon and egg plate - everything tasted fresh and homemade.
