Blue lady Food Truck — Restaurant in Scotch Plains

I have been driving past this food truck for the past few months nearly every day for work. I just happened to be starving so I stopped in. First off, I must say the owner is a very friendly and kind and professional guy that makes absolutely fantastic food. I had the street dog and fries with cheese. The food looked very good and I can tell he is very passionate about what he does. I have a strong appreciation for when someone actually cares about the appearance of what there selling. I'm very impressed and who would have thought a simple hot dog could taste that great. I promise I will be back every chance I get. It's well worth it. The prices are very reasonable for the portions and great quality of the food. It really tasted like the highest quality ingredients. I'm very very picky with my food especially since I drive over 10 hrs daily for work. When I was walking up to the truck I noticed the truck itself was very clean and that was quite a relief seeing. I'm a good truck junkie lol. I plan on trying nearly the entire menu. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed and tell him the Mercedes Benz van guy sent ya. Lol. So I happened to notice this truck parked elsewhere (for the night) and noticed poutine on the menu (a rarity in this area! Usually just disco fries), so I decided to look it up to see where they sit during the day. Very close to where I live! Tried out this afternoon as I was working from home and my 15-year-old was here. I had called him and said "I got you a chili hot dog"... his reaction was, "oh. That's it?" Then I handed it to him when I got home... reaction was, "oh. OH! Wow that's big. " Then a few seconds later... "oh this is SO GOOD!" My experience with the poutine (chili style) was delicious as well- perfect balance of spice... a decent kick but not overwhelming at all. More flavor than fire. Food truck operator was friendly and appreciative, and what better way to enjoy the brief wait for your food than to stand there staring at the beautiful golf course?

Highly recommended to anyone in the area, working from home, or just passing through on Plainfield Ave.

*Update end of 2024: Unfortunately the owner sold his food truck and won't be at this location anymore. Hopefully one day he'll show up somewhere cooking up...

Wow, Hotdogs are huge!!! I was thinking that is too much to pay for a hotdog. After eating one I started to feel bad that they are NOT charging enough. I DARE you to try and eat 2 of them.

I always thought my kraut and mustard dogs were missing something. Who knew it was cream cheese?!?! Apparently Seattle did. The cream cheese doesn’t add a different flavor, it enhances all the other toppings.
