Federico's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Scottsdale

I would give this place more stars because the food is actually reallllly good. However, their staff/customer service needs some serious fixing. I understand how smaller walk in Mexican food joints like these may feel out of place and not catering to “their own” up here in North Scottsdale, but the girl that works days at the cash register (usually weekends) has an attitude towards white people. My girlfriend is latina and I speak spanish so I know it’s not a ME thing. I respect all races and all walks of life. Every single time i’ve been into Federico’s with her working- I was treated by her like I didn’t belong and she would intentionally make things more difficult. If something was wrong, she would make excuses and argue over why that happened. she’s got a do-no-wrong complex and if i was manager i would fire her because she’s driving away myself and other neighbors that have had the same experience with her. Dear Federico’s Manager : Today is 5/11/24 and I picked up my burritos at 12:30pm at the 100th street and frank lloyd wright location- so you know which cashier i am talking about. anyway, todays experience was more of the same: she would call out what sounded like my order and rudely say- “no! that’s not yours”… i was sitting for 20 mins wondering what was going on while patrons that got there 10-15 mins after me where getting served first. i finally approached her and asked if it was done yet- and she just points to a paper bag she discreetly placed on the counter without saying anything at all. i asked her how long ago she called it out and she rudely said “i don’t know, im not your timekeeper.” the food had already gotten cold by the time i learned it was ready. so im over it!

Cashier was very rude. She decided to tell me that almost all of the menu was not available. I could only order tacos, and I only could order 3 types of tacos. I never understood why a restaurant would be open and you can only order one item off the menu. It just seems like lazy staff and bad customer service. Came in with my wife to try this place out. Ordered two bean and cheese burritos with a coupon. They actively checked to make sure that their current day's offer couldn't beat the coupon to give me the lowest price possible! So big win on making sure I got the best price. The bean and cheese burrito was taste and the salsa bar was also very good. I will definitely come back and order something more involved to see how they excel with meat.
