Nick's Italian Restaurant - FLW — Restaurant in Scottsdale

Nick's is an excellent authentic Italian restaurant with outstanding food for lunch or dinner. I've dined-in numerous times, and ordered take-out repeatedly, and everything has always been consistently well prepared. This casual bistro has indoor and outdoor tables which begin to fill up at around 7p.m. on weeknights, however the professional waiters and staff are as well seasoned as the food, and are attentive and prompt. The Chicken Parmesan is always moist and tender, covered in wonderfully melted mozzarella cheese, and comes with a side of pasta or vegetables. The Fettuccine Alfredo has perfectly balanced creamy Parmesan cheese sauce over wide homemade noodles. The homemade Gnocchi is one of my favorites, as well, and I love the pink sauce. For those who enjoy spicier sauces, the Pasta Arrabiata has a great blend of Italian spices and red pepper. Absolutely everything on the menu is wonderful, from the Italian Appetizers, Soups & Salads to the Homemade Pasta, Veal, Chicken, Seafood Entrees & Specials. They even have Pizza & Calzones. For lunch, from 11 - 2, Monday-Friday, they offer the same menu, with smaller portions and prices and include hot & cold Hero Sandwiches served on fresh-baked bread. The prices for dinner are reasonable, as well, especially since most entrees are very large! They offer four traditional Italian desserts. I have had the cannoli, and the filling is wonderful, with sweet Mascarpone and miniature chocolate chips, however the shell did not seem to be made in house. The restaurant is clean, health code adherences observed and evident from all A+ inspection certificates mounted behind the carry-out window. On 11-4-20 I called in a pizza order to go for two pizzas from Nicks. I drove to the restaurant, paid for them, put them in the car then drove back home. When I got home and opened the boxes we discovered it was [not] what we ordered. We ordered …...

1. A medium thin crust margherita pizza with the standard toppings of cheese, olive oil, basil, garlic and tomatoes.

2. A medium thin crust “double pepperoni” pizza with extra cheese.

We received a medium [thick crust] margherita pizza with extra cheese, tomatoes, and no basil. The pepperoni pizza was [not] a double amount of pepperoni as we requested, and had divots from where there were once pepperoni slices but disappeared. Meaning, where pepperoni slices were once placed on the pizza, had been removed. It looked like someone picked at it then put the pizza back in the box.

I called Nick's to complain. They put me on hold for a long time then hung up on me. I called back again to continue my conversation with the manager. I requested for them to make it right, by making the ‘correct pizzas’ that we ordered and deliver them to us. They refused to do so because they said they were “too busy” and didn't offer delivery and would not consider a credit for a future pizza.

Based on the poor customer service and poor product, we will [NOT] be patrons of Nick's ever again. It's sad. They had an opportunity to make it...

Just met with a very rude manager or owner I'm not even sure. The disrespect was uncalled for though. I walk in and up to the hostess stand. I asked her if I can use the restroom because the circle k nextdoor has their closed. She says yes, no problem right around that corner. I tell her thank you and start walking. Then this older man kind of hops over in to my path. "Can I help you!?" he says. I said "I'm just going to the bathroom. Circle K's closed." He says "No" I reply "excuse me? I just spoke with her and she said it was fine" "For customers only" he blurts. "Ah, come on they're closed next door, she said it was cool" "Somebody is there" he says I take that as a reluctant yes. Then I try to pass him and he ask me where am I going? I'm like "I'll wait for them to come out." He says "No, you need to wait outside" "Excuse me?" I reply "Someone is cleaning the bathroom, you have to wait out there for them to finish." By this time I'm about to pee my pants, so I just leave.

Idk, this very weird and disrespectful to me. If he really didn't want me in there why not just cut off all options. Only reason I tried to compromise was because I thought he showed me a sliver of hope. I hate to consider it BUT I definitely had the highest level of Melanin in the building...
