El Buen Amigo Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Scranton

If I can give zero, stars, I would. Staff, very unprofessional I ordered over $92 worth of food and went to go pick it up. They had told me that someone else picked up my order and that they would be dropping it back off. I told her I wasn’t comfortable with that because I wasn’t sure what the other person did with my food. they told me that they literally just picked it up two minutes before I came. I waited 30 minutes for them to come back when they came back the restaurant took the food to another place (i’m guessing to examine my food) and then gave me my food back. I told her I did not want that food they have to make it over. It’s been out of the restaurant and with some random person for over 30 minutes and they said it was too much food and they’re not gonna make it over. It’s Friday and that was my family‘s dinner. So now At 7:30pm after a long day at work after a long day of kids at school, I have to Find another place to get dinner at. Unprofessional in the time it took that man to drop my food back off they could’ve already made the food over and I would’ve been home. I’ve always supported this business. El buen amigo I took my wife a doctor's appointment in scranton and after a 4 hour infusion.  We were hungry.  We chose Mexican food and found "El Buen Amigo" Restaurant only 11 minutes from us. They had good reviews, so we decided to go give them a try. When we entered the place, a nice gentleman (Tony) greeted us and sat us down. The place looked nice and clean. There was another couple that was also in the dining room. Tony introduced himself, handed us the menus, and asked if we wanted to order some drinks before our main order. We ordered a Horchata for my wife, and I ordered some water with lemon. Horchata drink was very good. This is one of the drinks that my wife likes. And she said it was very good. He brought us some chips, salsa  and guacamole. We could tell the chips were fresh. The guacamole was delicious, and salsa was very good. My wife ordered the Chilaquiles, and I ordered the Carne Asada. My wife said her Chilaquiles was delicious and not too spicy. She used to help a friend in a Mexican kitchen. So she knows. My Carne Asada was also delicious, as was the rice and beans. The plates were large with plenty of food on them. I ordered the tres leches dessert and really enjoyed it also. I would recommend El Buen Amigo to anyone wanting delicious,  fresh, authentic Mexican food, good atmosphere, and great service. Thanks for your great service, Tony. We will definitely be back.

El Buen Amigo Llevé a mi esposa a una cita con el médico en Scranton y después de una infusión de 4 horas.  Teniamos hambre.  Elegimos comida mexicana y encontramos el restaurante "El Buen Amigo" a solo 11 minutos de nosotros.  Tenían buenas críticas de comida, así que decidimos probarlos. Cuando entramos al lugar, un amable caballero (Tony) nos saludó y nos sentó.  El lugar se veía bonito y limpio.  Había otra pareja que también estaba en el comedor. Tony se presentó, nos entregó los menús y nos preguntó si queríamos pedir algunas bebidas antes de nuestro pedido principal Pedimos una horchata para mi esposa y yo pedí un poco de agua con limón. La bebida de horchata era muy buena.  Esta es una de las bebidas que le gusta mucho a mi esposa.  Y ella dijo que era muy bueno. Tony Nos trajo Totopos( tortilla chips, nachos), salsa y guacamole.  Podríamos decir que los Totopos( tortilla chips, nachos) estaban frescas.  El guacamole estaba delicioso y la salsa muy buena. Mi esposa pidió los chilaquiles y yo pedí la carne asada. Mi esposa dijo que sus chilaquiles estaban deliciosos y no demasiado picantes.  Ella ​​ayudaba a una amiga en una cocina mexicana.  Entonces ella lo sabe. Mi Carne Asada también estaba deliciosa al igual que el arroz y los frijoles. Los platos eran grandes y tenían mucha comida encima. Pedí el postre de tres leches y también lo disfruté mucho. This place is such a lowkey spot, in the middle of a neighborhood in North Scranton. For the atmosphere, the restaurant was obviously a residential home before, but that adds to the dining experience methinks. Gives the place a charm.

In terms of the food and prices, it’s absolutely the best bang for the buck compared to any other authentic Mexican place I’ve tried around here. 4 quesabirria tacos for $14 is very fair, and it’s so delicious. When I came home I was so excited that I ate two tacos before remembering I was gonna write this review, hence my photo only having two tacos

In terms of service, I’ve always called ahead to pick up my order and I’ve always been consistently greeted with kindness. The people here are very friendly and my family and I are more than happy to continue giving them our patronage.
