Hot Wok — Restaurant in Scranton

I ordered from here on oct. 19th. They charged me 31 dollars and some change. When the delivery man came he gave me the reciept for 26.90. I asked the delivery man if that was my order since the amount was different. He stated it was with the added tax. When I looked at my bank statement it showed I was charged 31 dollars AND 26. 90. I called them and let them know they had charged me twice. He said he voided the 26 dollars n I should see it in my bank account in 3 to 5 business days. It is now oct 29th and I called again because the money hadn’t arrived. He said he needed to see my bank statements so I told him I can show him my online statements from oct 19 (from when I ordered to now. The manager said he needed papers which I don’t receive from my bank, basically he was asking me to go out of MY way for a mistake on their end. I told him no. I can log in and show my bank statements. He wouldn’t accept that. He said to give him some time he was going to talk to the bank. He called me 2 hrs later again stating for me to call my bank (which I did everyday to see if the money deposited) . I told him I already did and if I was going to get my money back since I was clearly charged twice and willing to show my statements to him. He said no. So he stood with my money. This place 2-3 years ago used to be amazing but in recent times the food has become so sub par it isn’t even funny. Ordered 2 dinner combos for me and my fiancé.

Sesame chicken Sweet and Sour chicken.

The sesame chicken was very chewy and tasted as if it was hours old, the sauce on it was not a lot and I’m glad for that because it was absolutely disgusting. It had a very odd taste

The sweet and sour chicken is not horrible and is why it gets a 2 star review, the chicken itself is and always looks very suspicious and is the reason we stopped going here. It looked as if it wasn’t even chicken, the taste however was decent but I will never try it again. It was cooked crispy and the sauce was pretty good. But that’s the only positive part of this review i can give.

Calling the restaurant is always incredibly difficult as they never answer the phones. If they do they are always extremely rude as if you are the problem. Ordering is usually within 15 minutes as usual.

The building is very small and doesn’t ever smell right, there’s always a very odd smell coming from the inside and back. The exterior looks like it’s about to fall over and parking is always impossible.

This place is horrible. We order from here quite often but after this last time, we will not be ordering from here again. We called and placed our order and had them deliver it. It took well over an hour to get to us and they werent even busy. Once it got to us, I signed the receipt as I was paying with a card. The delivery person literally stood at my door and refused to leave bc we didnt tip him. While I understand they live off of tip money, I wasnt in a financial situation to tip him. We tried to tell him no tip and he just refused to leave so I gave him $2.00. Its not much I know but hey, its something. He still refused to leave. Once he got a tip that was good enough for him, he left. Then we check our order and they forgot to give us the rice we ordered and was charged for. When we tried calling them back, they didnt answer and we tried several times. This place has gone down hill. Delivery drivers who demand a tip and a restaurant that doesnt give you what you paid for!! Never ever again. Stay away...
