I'll never order from them again. It's Memorial Day, so I get it. They were open another hour when we placed a delivery order via Doordash. The order was over $100. They decided to cancel it because they don't want to make money, I guess. So they lost us as customers for good. We ordered Thai food instead.
Edited: Sadly, the owner believes that I (the customer) need to make things right with them. Wow! This only solidifies never giving them my money ever again. I suppose I'm responsible for making sure they update their hours online too. Maybe the third party company (Doordash) is responsible because Villa Maria II declined an order through it and the reason listed was "the restaurant is now closed." Meanwhile, all their hours online state they were still open. So, I'm supposed to make things right with them instead of just calling a reliable restaurant. Also, edited to add a photo of the email received that the order was canceled because they decided to close on Doordash AFTER my order was already placed. Additionally, I called and was told the same thing. They were closing and stopped taking orders. The owner completely changed his initial response, which was extremely rude and called my review bogus. Then went on a social media rant too. There are a million of Italian restaurants in the area. So, with that kind of behavior, it only shows me how much they care about customers. Below is the original response from the owner before it was changed.
Response from the owner:
"That’s not true I never heard from you and doordash is 3rd party so you go on social media and bash us instead of calling the restaurant to talk to the owners who are working hard and short staffed. You just lost your chance to make things right. What a...
Read moreFor us, the food is worth the price. People at work say it is great food, I will say it's good. It is their customer service program. I have ordered 3 x from there with hopes that things would improve. 1st time I ordered, I arrived and stood by the pick-up sign next to the bar. Waitress saw me and continued her thing. Stood there 5 more minutes, and still no one would acknowledge me. Another 2 to 3 minutes, and I had to ask for help. When I finally did get help, the same Waitress told me she did not see me standing there. Then they could not find my order. Finally, I got it, but she did not give me utensils or napkins. I was told you needed to request them on the app. On the 2nd visit, it went better. Still had to request utensils and napkins. Last night, I received their text, " Your food is ready." Arrive to pick it up. Most of the order is missing. I asked them to check the order because items were missing, and I was told, " Everything is there. We made certain." I had to show them my order because they had it wrong. 15 minutes later, they had my items ready, but no utensils or napkins.
The owner will reply ( just paraphrase), " Why don't you tell us first before placing it on social media?"
My reply is -- you have been informed of your staff and restaurants' shortcomings. It should not take us to repeat and repeat your areas of opportunities. As the owner, be proactive and set high expectations of your staff and meal preparation. Your customers will appreciate this.
It is not about perfection. It's about improving our dining experience one small...
Read moreMy family and I went for dinner last night to Villa Maria for the first and last time. We waited over a half hour for food, once we got the food it was gross. My son and girlfriend ordered chicken parm. His dinner came out about 10-15 mins after ours. He eat just a few bites of it and knew something was wrong, he then cut a piece off and gave it to me to look at. It was raw. Him and his girlfriend both got sick off of the dinner and later threw up. I told the waitress arhat it was raw , she then said she can put an order in for another one at no extra charge. Why would I want to trust another one, and I’m pretty sure we should not be charged for a raw chicken dinner but we were. I just asked for the check. Then on to the place itself. Half of the waitresses were wearing mask on their chin and the other half had none at all on. There was no social distancing there. They had a live band with people grouped together near our table dancing with no mask on bumping into our table and chairs. Also you can see into the kitchen on your way to the rest room and it looked filthy as well. After we left I sent a message to them on Facebook and the only thing they said to me was all the kids they fed for free during March to June. What that had to do with my problem is beyond me. I don’t care how many free meals they have out, my sons...
