My experience with Carmella’s was in Jim Thorp during the fall festival. I’m always a sucker for Italian desserts so when I saw Carmellas I had to try something. I got a linzer tart and cannoli. First off the cannoli was one of the best I’ve ever had. They were being filled there, and the flavor of the shell and filling was amazing. Linzer tart cookies are one of my favorites. Not only was this cookie the size of my entire hand it was delicious. The cookie was buttery and flaky and the jelly was the perfect flavor. I wish I lived closer to the actual restaurant because I’d be there every week. 10/10!

Had the displeasure of paying $6 for garbage cannolis at the Pittston Tomato Festival. These cannolis are a rip-off — overpriced, underfilled, and absolutely not worth the hype. The shells are forgettable, the filling barely makes it halfway through, and the whole thing feels like a calculated scam to squeeze money out of customers who don’t know better. There’s nothing authentic or special here, just a cheap trick wrapped in an expensive price tag.

Since I first went there, many years ago, I've been a big fan. They make great deli sandwiches, hoagies and soups. Their pastry game is top notch, as well. It's a nice quaint place for an afternoon meal. They could stay open a little bit later, but that's a straight selfish wish in my part. I want their sandwiches at all times of the day. Lol. You would too.

So I went to Jim Thorpe today. Saw the pastries being sold. Normally when I go there I am buying close to $200. This time around, because I asked for a certain danish & not the one that had cherries are smeared & looking like a sticky mess, the guy with the glasses called me a pain in the a$$ under his breathe because I wanted the danish next to it not the messed up one he decided for me. If I'm going to pay $6, I would like the one that doesn’t look banged up. I only got a handful of items as opposed to several bags. I even said to him “sorry for being a pain in the a$$” to let him know I heard him. He didn’t acknowledge me but made sure to act all appreciative to the next customer. I love the danishes but disliked being spoken to that way. My little sale may not be a big deal but word of mouth is everything. I hope you get better people to help out. You should get what...

We stopped to check out this bakery for a potential wedding pastry and Italian cookie order. We were welcomed and treated so nicely from the beginning. They were so helpful going over all the possibilities with us, sharing pictures of items and presentations. They offered us coffee or tea while we worked with them and they gave us some samples to help us make decisions. They were so very helpful with suggestions and more than patient as they worked with four of us and all of our questions. They are very personable and friendly people who made you feel right at home. Oh, and the pastries are delicious. Just what we were looking for in Italian pasties and cookies. Looking forward to continuing to work with them as we plan...

Simply outstanding!

I ordered a sandwich added some other meats, got the sandwich and it came on a roll that had seeds on both the top and bottom. I can't eat anything with dried seeds on it, and they were very helpful in putting the sandwich on a roll (some what of an egg roll), that was simply the most tasty, fresh roll I've had in a long time.

The meats were cut nice and thin, so that the 6 or so meats did NOT fight each other, nor was it to much meat. FRESH mozzarella cheese, and very tasty tomatoes. The owner cam over a few times to ask if everything was ok, and if the roll they came up with was ok.

I stopped in on a return trip from SC to Maine, and I WILL make...
