This place is amazing. Food and staff will keep bring you back. I love that this restaurant is not a traditional taqueria, nor tex-mex. Don't get me wrong I love tex-mex. How could I not, but there is something to be said about the Yucatan type of Mexican cuisine this place is serving up. The sauce they serve with food are to die for. My favorite sauce are the medium (verde) and the very hot (habanero). I am so glad that the reviews for this place were spot on. Great food, great price with excellent staff. Oh ... Did I forget to mention the complimentary charro/borracho beans while you wait are so good they could be a meal themselves. I missed them my first stop there because I was not aware of them until I read a fellow reviewers post. Don't miss out on them ... they are located next to the drink station. My favorite taco is the poch-chu (closest spelling I could remember), which is pork tenderloin cubed and cooked to perfection. My man loves the conchita tacos (pulled pork with pickled red onions). My son got the picadillo tacos (ground beef) and I had to try. So good. Of you're mouth is looking for something different in the way of Mexican food this place...
Read moreHabanero's Tacos provides flavors from the Yucatan peninsula, rather than the more traditional northern Mexican food. The meat selection is much larger than normal, and the overall variety is overwhelming at first.
I had the Los 3 Cochinitos, which is one cochinita taco, one poc-chuc taco, and one spiced pastor taco. To make it easier, here are the descriptions:
*Cochinita pibil Signature pulled pork marinated in bitter orange & annatto, slow roasted inside banana leaves, served with brined red onions marinated in lime.
*Poc-chuc (Mayan pork) Cubed pork loin marinated in lime & roasted garlic. Served with bell pico.
*Spiced pork pastor Cubed pork loin marinated in red condiments & pineapple juice. Served with fresh onions, cilantro & diced pineapples.
The meat was well marinated, very tender and flavorful. Included in the meal was rice and refried beans, but they also let you have a cup of charra-style beans. There are a variety of beverages, from American and Mexican fountain drinks to bottled drinks from Mexico.
The prices were reasonable, considering the quantity and quality of food. Definitely...
Read moreThis was hands down the best food I’ve had in a very long time! We just moved to Seabrook and we have been dying to try this place out since we first saw it. We immediately were welcomed in by the owner as soon as we walked inside. Everything was extremely clean and cozy. The artwork and artifacts on display are very beautiful. We were walked through the menu, helped with any questions we had, and were allowed to sample both the salsa and their in house drinks. I LOVED everything I tried! It was truly unique and so flavorful! Mind you, we hadn’t even tasted our food yet! We got home and I was blown away by the Quesabirrias. My husband had the nachos and pretty much inhaled them. We also bought chips and salsa (WORTH EVERY DIME!). Did we get dessert? Yes, yes we did. Tres Leches and crema de coco. Both were super sweet. I have a big sweet tooth, so I was over the moon about both desserts. I absolutely recommend this...
