Fuji Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Searcy

My family and I was there on a Saturday night for my birthday dinner and the sushi was wonderful like always. The only complaint I have is about our server. This is where I get pretty upset with Fujis for forcing me to pay a $20 gratuity for a server that barely came to check on us, did NOT bring the food to us, had to ask the several times for chop sticks, soy sauce, sweetener for my tea and we had to ask another server for refills. Putting the gratuity on the check for a server only makes the server LAZY, because they know that they are going to get their money no matter how they serve their customers. I love eating at Fujis and when we do go, even if it is just my wife and I, we usually spend anywhere between $120 to $200s on sushi and depending on how the server does their job they are tipped pretty well. That should be the customers decision not automatically decided for them. I say that because the server we had would have only gotten a $5 tip or less due to their service given to us, the paying customer. If the gratuity for a LAZY server continues. I will take my $200 to $400 order a month to a different sushi restaurant. I drive 45 minutes one way to Fujis. It will not hurt my feels to find a different sushi...

It is such a shame that these reviews only go to 5 stars because, this was the first time that I had ever set foot in this VERY FINE establishment, But, it will not be my last one by a long shot!!!! The service was beyond any restaurant I've ever frequented in Searcy by far! Two thumbs up for their excellent wait staff! And that's just for starters! The wait for you're order was, is, and surpassed any! wait I've ever had to time in Searcy, Arkansas! Being a veteran gourmet chef myself, this place goes way beyond service to their customers! And deserves a way higher star count than they get! Hands down, REALLY!!!! If I could rate this restaurant as high as the Google guide will go at the moment, I would have given an unheard of easy points rate of 11++ for their food, service, courtesy, friendly was, as well as being one of the BEST! family oriented restaurants of this town, and this century for where this restaurant is located! Fast service!, Very reasonably priced! Very, very Exellellent quality of services!! And one heck of a Beautiful atmosphere!!! You guys brighten Searcy!!! My last few visits have been disappointing. The quality of the food and the overall atmosphere have plummeted since this establishment opened its doors. Last night was particularly bad.

To start with, my wife's plate was dirty with greasy food. The waitress replaced it from a "clean" stack of plates from which she pulled 2 more dirty plates. We should have left right then.

Next, we paid an extra dollar to get onion soup and salad. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce hearts that were bitter. The soup had a very unpleasant aftertaste. Sent it back and had them refund the extra money.

The performance by the chef was probably the most boring I've ever witnessed. No flare, no jokes, no fun, no onion Choo Choo train. Right off the bat, he burned the eggs for the fried rice. The vegetables had an aftertaste that was close to a freezer burn taste. Filets were cooked correctly but had way too much salt. Almost inedible.

This was my last visit to this restaurant. It's just not worth a $75 gamble to walk away disappointed. Waffle House has become...
