So we went to check this place out, got seated. First initial thought is I'm excited they made that place look fantastic! So we got the menu and I was a little bummed, its just the same stuff every other restaurant has. (They had the potential to compete with the likes of Faded or the Watering hole). So its time to order, my wife orders a burger and asks if she could get grilled onions on it instead of raw ( we don't care if they charge extra she just prefers grilled over raw) the server said nope, they are to busy they won't! ( not gonna lie, you have lost me at this point but let's just see how the food is) so the burger gets to the table and its a pre done frozen burger no seasoning it really just (no other way to put it than) it sucked! Over cooked dry chewy. I ordered tenders, 4 finger size tenders for $13.00, no side and they were chewy and just bland. This was horrible. They should look at the area and see what we are missing, we have enough finger food/fast food around.
Ok so update... so we went back to give it another chance. I was super excited to give it another chance as we read good reviews on the ribs and chicken. So i said to my wife let's go back and you get chicken I get ribs (i have been craving ribs so much) the food got to the table I quickly snap some pics in hopes I can post a new review about a better experience. We'll I take my pictures and I was looking at them before I dig in and I noticed something! I look... I double look and there is a bite out of my garlic bread sitting a top of my ribs!!! I told the server and with out a beat she left to the back. We hear a bunch of laughter coming from the back then she comes out immediately and as she is half way from the kitchen to the table she yells " here give me that one and ill give you this one" I look at her confused. I tell her ma'am someone took a bite out of my bread and its sitting on my meat I dont want this. Then she gets the manager the manager did offer to replace the plate and they said it was just a tear. I looked at her and told her that looks like a perfect bite then the waitress that was telling me it didn't look like a bite then said yes it did look like a bite. I said no im sorry this grosses me out and if it was a tear or not a bite you need to train your staff to not put it on a plate when it looks like a bite. So unfortunately we left and I will say that was the last chance..... the fact they think its ok to serve a plate like that is beyond me im gonna post a picture. I know what a tear looks like and I know what a bite looks like.
I assure you that this is not a scam or fraud review! I do not work for a competitor this is such a crazy assumption!!! Take accountability, to all reading this, take note, even the owner does not even care!!! This is remarkable đľ. So check your camera & staff schedule and check with your lady manager & server it was July 15th at 5:55 pm, I have the time stamp when I took the picture!! It is so clear that this place dont care about the guest or the experience!! To have something this disgusting to happen to you and the owner comes back with this is a scam review is more disgusting than the plate coming out with a bite out of it!!!!! I guess I should blast this interaction all over highlands swap, what's open highlands. Or maybe I should share this entire experience with happening events in highlands... maybe then you won't think...
Read moreWe met another couple for dinner. It was our first visit. Our friends had eaten here the night before and highly recommended it.
We went on the Saturday of the restaurants soft opening. The place was hopping but the staff was calm and organized. We were greeted with smiles and seated promptly at a booth.
Our servers name was Don. He had multiple tables to wait on but he was attentive to us. He informed us that the kitchen had many orders to fill and we might need to wait longer than expected for our meal. We understood and appreciated his honesty. We told Don that we were not in a hurry.
There are three tvâs in the immediate dining area. Several decorations of fish are mounted along the booths. Three high top tables are placed against the wall that is decorated with framed photographs of various people showcasing their catch.
The owner stopped at various tables to ask if customers were pleased with their food. She actually bused our table when we finished our meal with a smile on her face.
Our table ordered the two meat combo plate. Choices include turkey, pulled pork, chicken or beef and choice of two side. Also ordered was the pulled pork plate which includes two sides. We opted for side salads, roasted corn, mac ân cheese and a sweet potato. Everything was delicious!
The portions are large and priced very reasonably. There is not a full bar but beer & wine are available. I ordered a glass of red wine priced at $6.00. It was a nice pour.
There was a continuous stream of people coming thru the door. I heard Don inform a nearby table that the kitchen had run out of baked potatoes. The temperature of the room felt a bit warm and the womenâs bathroom needed some tidying but I understand the restaurant was filled to capacity. I have no doubt these kinks will work themselves out for the better.
We all had a very enjoyable evening and plan to return very soon. I highly recommend Grill at Lake Jackson. The view...
Read moreI was really excited to try this restaurant after reading so many great reviews, and I gave it some time to settle in after opening. The place smelled amazing from outside, and when we arrived, we were seated quickly despite it being somewhat busy â a good first impression.
Unfortunately, the food and service didnât live up to expectations. My friend ordered the flounder with sweet potato fries and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was served cold and was returned, only to be microwaved (as the server openly mentioned), which left a film on top. The sweet potato fries were soggy and undercooked, though the hush puppies were tasty.
I ordered the rib platter with pulled pork. The ribs were very dry and lacked meat, while the pulled pork was also dry, a bit cold, and seemed like it had been sitting out for some time. The garlic bread was soggy instead of toasted. On a positive note, the fries and onion rings were good.
The service also left something to be desired. When I asked for a new glass of water because the first tasted off (unfiltered tap), the server gave me a look rather than addressing it professionally.
For nearly $50, the experience was disappointing â cold food, dry meat, and items reheated in the microwave rather than freshly prepared. Sadly, this was enough to turn us off from returning, despite the...
