STAFF MEMBERS NEED RETRAINING
We have always enjoyed Indian Gardens, so I chose to have my birthday lunch here. Sadly, there has been an unfortunate change in the staff, and more attention needs to be paid to training employees how to give courteous competent service to their customers. Truly, we have never been so rudely treated in any restaurant by any employee. We are mature people, have lived and worked in Sedona with the public for the past 8 years, and have often recommended Indian Gardens to our customers…after what happened today, we will not be recommending it again unless there is a change. Because their duce tables are quite long, my husband was unable to hear me and decided to move to the side of the table, still leaving 3 feet space between us and the next table. An employee demanded that he move back to the end of the table because she said it was a firelane and no one was allowed to sit there, so my husband explained that we were having trouble hearing each other and asked if we could be moved to another table where we could sit closer to each other. When I returned from the restroom, I encountered an extremely rude second employee threatening to throw us out if he didn’t move immediately…my husband was trying to explain to him that the first employee had agreed to assist us in moving our food and drinks to another table but that he wanted to wait until I returned from the restroom so I would be able to find him. Since the first employee was no longer there, and our food had already come, we asked if the second employee could assist us in moving our food and drinks to a nearby table, and the employee agreed. My husband and I picked up what we could carry to assist him, and expected the employee would bring the rest…he instead turned around and left and neither employee returned to assist us. We were also not given silverware with the salad and sandwich we ordered, which is fundamental to normal service. Whoever is in charge of training would do well to follow up on how things are actually being done...this is extremely poor customer service, and I would classify the nastiness as senior abuse…really no excuse for...
Read moreWe travel for food and adventure. This place was our favorite spot to stop off to eat and chill when hiking Sedona or playing in Flagstaff when we visit several times a month. Today that has come to a dead stop! The best part of this place was the breakfast burrito! It used to be served all day, with red salsa... Not sure when it changed to "Breakfast is served till 11 only." and a sugary flavored green salsa that we couldn't even eat it was so horrible... The thin, dark haired man wearing a scarf at the register was not customer service oriented... or even friendly. We were surprised they stopped serving breakfast at 11 because we'd been ordering them all times of the day before this visit... We were so disappointed when we found out they had stopped serving breakfast for the day...I told him we traveled all the way here from Phoenix just for their burrito and asked if they might be able to make an exception? His only response was a shrug and to say "That's not my call." Not friendly or sorry...He didn't care to make an attempt or to ask anyone if the chef could throw a breakfast burrito together for us. Note, they serve another lunch burrito...with cauliflower in it?! Not of interest to us, but it wouldn't have been much of an adjustment make the breakfast one. We were both dissappointed, but also offended by the way he turned our inquiry down. Look, Indian Gardens, you are in the middle of nowhere. Your whole purpose is to serve your clients. We have other choices. When your staff acts and provides less than five star service, we definitely can and will go elsewhere. By the way breakfast is a huge deal for your place. Maybe consider keeping your top sellers on the...
Read moreI've been coming to Indian Gardens every Monday for Pasta Night for a while now. After careful consideration, I must say that it is hands down the best way that one could spend a Monday Night in Sedona! The food is absolutely phenomenal, the service is top notch, and the atmosphere is truly outrageous! Although I normally sit inside, enjoying a meal in their back patio is an enchanting experience. Getting to the details, the usual front of house for Pasta Night at Indian Gardens is Vivian and Megan. Both are absolutely excellent people and enhance the experience of the evening to a whole new level. I usually get a Café Au Lait with my meal and Megan's latte art is truly an extraordinary sight to behold. As for the back of house, Max and Kyle are masters of the art of pasta making. Some might call me boring for getting the same thing every week, but when you find a dish that sends your taste buds through the clouds, I don't see any reason to change. I usually get the Aglio E Olio with chicken, a dish that obtains a perfect balance of flavors. On most other days, I don't have the free time to make over to Indian Gardens for lunch, but when I have, it's almost always an unforgettable experience! So to conclude, my honest opinion is that Indian Gardens is an absolutely phenomenal place to dine and if you're spending your Monday night anywhere else, you're...
