Want to start by saying every single worker I encountered was incredibly nice and helpful. The location is absolutely beautiful and to be able to sit on your patio and hear the creek is amazing and so relaxing. However if you stay here you are paying for location not the accommodations. We stayed in room 16. It is 2 levels, with the room downstairs having a small loveseat and a kitchenette however no table other than on the balcony. There is also a small bathroom with a shower on the first level. The small spiral iron stairs lead to the bedroom on the second level. Getting our bags up the stairs was interesting to say the least. It does have 2 closets which is nice however the nightstands were just tables and did not have drawers which meant leaving things that could not be hung up in your suitcase. I understand space is limited but feel like if the nightstands at least had 2 drawers it would have been helpful. There is a very small half bath upstairs as well, but the door does not fully close. The TV was on a shelf next to the fireplace causing part of the screen to not be visible from both sides of the bed and was unable to be adjusted. This was confusing as there was space above the fireplace where it could have been mounted making it visible to both sides of the bed. A big reason we stayed here was the jacuzzi tub, after filling for probably a half hour we turn off the water only to discover that either the tub had not been cleaned at all or they didn’t know how to properly clean the jets, as seen by all of the debris floating on the water. I am thankful I have sensitive skin so we didn’t add any oils or soaps that would have hid this. They claim they thoroughly clean each room between guests, and I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt with the tub, until leaving when I was checking for forgotten items and looked under the bed. You can see the thick layer of dust and some kind of kernels that were dropped and left by a previous guest. You can see in the picture the bed is on rollers and moving it to sufficiently clean would not be difficult. As I said earlier the location is beautiful and the staff was very friendly just remember if you are staying here to not expect a sparkly clean or updated place. Both bathrooms are very small, the tiles in the downstairs bathroom are cracked, the shower has mildew, and stains. Pros: beautiful location, friendly staff, well insulated as we could not hear the other guests outside, 2 bathrooms, 2 closets, comfortable bed, pay to use laundry available, dishes/silverware in rooms. Cons: outdated, small iron staircase, no table inside, no drawers, cracked tiles in bathroom, small bathrooms, tub not cleaned properly, mix of yellow toned and bright white lights which is hard on the eyes, parking was also a bit of a toss up as there are not any assigned spots and spaces were limited.

Really beautiful place. The grounds and area are super nice. Large coy pond, green grass, sculptures, etc. Stairways, pathways to creek access, chairs, hammocks, tables, and game of cornhole. As for staying, choose a Bungalow to have much more room and to have a better stay. We stayed 4 nights, in Room 8, on the top by the office. Bathroom is pretty tight, when using toilet, shower is okay. Guess this is preparing me for when I buy an RV. When comparing, this bathroom is bigger. Not much room getting in between toilet and sink, but it works, unless ya want to sit sideways.(Lol) Design or positioning of toilet could be made better, if possible to turn it facing toilet toward door to bathroom. After finding this out for the bathroom, I checked the reviews and found same comments on bathrooms and found review on Room 8 about the mattress sloping down on the side next to refrigerator. The mattress is still the same, but I did find the sloped mattress is not all too bad as long as you make sure mattress is centered allowing the base to support it. Although even with mattress centered, it still does have a slight slope. Jacuzzi tubs are a very nice addition. Very large. So large there is no place to unpack your suitcase, except to hang up 5 shirts. Wife liked the jacuzzi tub, so I guess it's worth it. Be aware, at least in the top rooms, not sure about the lower options(bungalows), when running water in the sink... an awful funky sewer smell blasts you in the face when bending over and either drinking water from faucet to rinse mouth, wash face, etc. Loved the AC unit, worked great. TV was at good angle, noticed some other reviews mentioned couldn't see part of tv from other side of bed. Lighting was nice in room, bathroom and over jacuzzi. Slight bummer that our outside flame light wasn't flickering but flashing/blinking. Strange it was only one not working. Must be a sign of something..in a good way.😃 Glad I know what it's like in these standard rooms. Next time we come, we are definitely booking a bungalow, preferably 18, that our friend stayed in. It was so much nicer and had so much more room in bedroom, bathroom, porch with grill, much larger tv(mounted), etc.

We booked the resort for our wedding at this resort in October of 2016. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were very nice, pricing was a very good value, and the wedding was absolutely amazing. But the way the business is run made for an absolutely terrible experience. We contacted Mike, a couple of months out and at the time were told that what they recommended was that we reserve all of the vacant rooms so that we were sure to have availability for any guests that wish to stay. They have a 72 hour cancellation policy and that we could just release the hold on any additional rooms that we did not need at least a week in advance. After reserving all of those rooms we got a call from the resort and were told that if anyone was booking on a weekend there was a 2 night minimum. They said that they fired the person that had told us that but they would still do it. Throughout the time leading up to the wedding we kept getting calls from our guests saying things like “they told me I had to book 2 nights minimum”, and “they said to call you to see what rooms are available” Every time we had to call them again. No one ever knew what anyone else was doing. We got a call and due to them changing computer systems they now had no idea which rooms and nights we needed, we gave them all of the information again. They told us that we could just pay when we came there, but being that we were planning the entire wedding we just wanted it to be taken care of so we called about 3 weeks out to just pay for everything in advance. At that time, after all of the payments had been made, we told them that any other rooms that were reserved in our name would not be needed and should be released. They said “we will take care of it” We checked in on Friday and our wedding was going to be on Saturday. Check in was normal and nothing out of the ordinary came up. We were personally given keys for 2 rooms that were reserved specifically in our name and nothing else was brought up about any other rooms with our name on them. Later in the night, one of the kitchen staff from our caterer came up to us and said “the front office said that you have 5 more rooms that no one is staying in, we were wondering if we could have one of them” and my heart stopped. I went up to the front office and asked the manager Christine (she was very abrasive) she said, “yeah thats right, have 5 more rooms that are reserved and no one has checked into them so my owner said to charge you for them” (over an additional $1,000) I told her that those rooms were released over 2 weeks ago. Her response was “i don’t know my owner just said to charge you” Come to find out, Christine was one of the employees that my wife had spoken to on a couple of occasions leading up to the event. So she should have been well aware of the entire situation. I decided to deal with it in the morning when we could talk to the owner. The next morning we requested to talk to the owner Lowell Johnson He came in to the office to speak with us and was extremely rude. He proceeded to blame the entire situation on us. He cut us off multiple times not even considering the possibility that his employees could have made a mistake. He yelled at us “we don’t do business that way” (referring to everything his employees had said to us) and “its your fault, you lose”. He even went as far as to put his hands on my wife’s shoulder to push her through the door to get us out. This man stole over $1,000 from us! He said that “everything that is done goes through this computer” but will not take responsibility for what takes place in his business. He would rather just steal the money from the customer than admit that his business made a mistake. The incompetence of the owner Lowell Johnson and his employees and the decision to take the money from his customers to cover for it is disgusting. The memory of our wedding will forever be tarnished by the actions of this terrible business. Lowell Johnson is a crook and should be publicly shamed for the way he treats his customers. CONSIDER STAYING...

I am not one to write negative reviews but based on my experience this weekend, I feel it is necessary. This is the second poor experience I have had here at Oak Creek Terrace. Last summer, I had 3 rooms booked for myself and a group of friends traveling from out of state. less than 24 hours before we were to check in, one of our 3 rooms was cancelled without any reasoning. When I called to find out why, they said for maintenance. thats fine and all, but they were not willing to assist in finding a solution to make sure we had rooms for everyone and basically said, we don't care if you stay here but we wont be helping find a solution. Fast forward to this weekend. I decided to give this place another chance because I REALLY wanted to stay close to the creek. On Thursday, August 3, 2023, I called to make sure payment was all set and nothing was going to be cancelled like last time. That call went well and the front desk person was very helpful. We were set to check in on Friday at 3PM, and we arrived at 5PM. When we arrived, we were told that our room wasnt ready yet and that we would need to wait for it to be cleaned. We didnt receive a phone call or email to let us know that our room would be ready later than our scheduled check in time either. When we asked why it wasnt ready, we were told they are short staffed and that they dont clean the rooms until the guests arrive (which we later found out isnt true). They tell us they will call us in about 30 minute and we would then be able to check in. So, we head down to the creek and an hour later, we STILL havent heard anything. I call the front desk to check on the status of our room and they say theyre almost done. When we head up to the front desk, we let them know we would like to request a late check out on sunday, to which they tell us we need to cal on sunday morning because they dont have the ability to make notes or an update about that. We also requested a refund for our first night stay, and information to contact the manager. We were given a runaround story about how he doesnt have a direct phone number or email and that would need to call the front desk in hopes to speak to him when he returns from vacation. Around 6:00PM, we finally get checked into our room. The AC is off, its 80 degrees, and the floors are still dirty in the bathroom. We are so frustrated at this point that we decide to just head down to the creek to hang out for the rest of the evening. Then Sunday rolls around. We call the front desk to request a late check out and they tell us we can check out at noon. At 11AM, the person working the front desk comes banging on our door and tells us that check out was at 10AM and we need to leave. We let her know we got approval to check out at 12PM and she proceeds to tell us that the next guest has arrived and they need to clean the room for them (which is interesting being that check in isnt until 3PM, and we didnt get to check in until 6PM). We are literally in our pajamas and im just getting out of the shower, but she is still insistent that we need to leave right that minute, so we tell her we will be out by 12PM like we were told this morning. When we go to check out, she apologizes profusely and explains that she is still new to working there. Normally we would have been understanding but based on the entire experience, we had had enough. We told her about the check in issue and that is when she told us that it isnt true that they only clean the rooms upon guest arrival. She did let us know that if we could get in touch with the manager, he would make things right but, again, the only way to contact him is to keep calling the front desk. Both front desk people we spoke to said they would leave a message for the manager/ call him and leave our contact info, but I have not heard anything back yet. So, I will NOT be staying here again and I will not recommend anyone else to stay...
