Tailgaters Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Selah

We finished A softball tournament called ahead of time made reservations. They knew a large group is coming in we Were told that we were going to get outdoor sitting, and obviously that wasn’t gonna happen because there was a class reunion going on. Because there was so many people we would get our food sporadically. ( really ? ) Some of us got our food within 20 minutes and others watched while people waited for over an hour to get food, which is what my case was. I waited for well over an hour for a poke bowl, by the time it was delivered to me in all honesty, I looked at that and knew that I could pay 10.99 at Safeway for three times as much and sitting in the hot small I was just done. Finally after getting my meal handed it back and said no thank you. My point is it’s Saturday plan appropriately clearly that was not the case. The staff was not prepared and obviously neither was the cook. I would’ve just rather them said hey this one’s on us but that was not the case. Unfortunately though the food is good we will not be coming back at all. Disappointed that they just weren’t prepared for a group of larger than 20 in their establishment. It had been a few years since I last ate at Tailgaters. My last experience wasn’t very good, and so I just never came back. So…. Tonight I was out in Selah running some errands and decided to call in a to-go order. I recognized the man on the other end as a bartender I knew from another bar a few years ago. Right away I knew I was in good hands. The bartender Chris is hands down the best bartender in Yakima. He knows how to run a bar so that you want to come back. His bar is impeccably clean. He will go above and beyond to make sure you are completely satisfied. Chris is the type of bartender that turns a normal customer into a “regular” customer. I was so impressed with the freshness of my food. I have been craving a hearty, delicious salad and no matter where I order one from they are always disappointing. This salad reminded me of a delicious salad usually seen at expensive steak/seafood restaurant. It has truly been a long time since I was this impressed by a to go meal. Tailgaters has it all. (26 March 2022 - 10 Stars!!!) Three of us had a FANTASTIC Prime Rib Dinner tonight. Some of the BEST any of us have ever had!!

We also had two appetizers (Cheese Curds & Pretzel and Cheese) plus something I'd never heard of before for dessert - Apple Cheese Cake. Take my recommendations, try some of this dessert - It Was OUTSTANDING!!

The service was TREMENDOUS, like I've always experienced here. (Eat here once or twice a month) This is still one of my "go to place" to take out of town visitors. Like tonight, they have never let me down!!
