UPDATE: After the Bar Rescue episode, the distraught and overwhelmed daughter of the bar (she inherited from her deacased dad Frank Sr.) ended up selling it to her brother Frankie Jr.. After Covid he sold it to his business partner who is running it now. It remains the local bar surviving and appreciated for its cheap drinks, mainstays like beef on the weck, chicken wings and its free Friday Showtime Pizza "Its ooey and gooey". Good hometown service and all around Cheers atmosphere. The place is still fun, darts, video bowling and sports rule on all the dozens of TVs. The smoke has cleared, the air is now clean and thank god the Buffalo still roams its range.
BEFORE THE RESCUE Family owned and operated, a locals bar with a down to earth attentive staff, this haunt is a mainstay for old and young alike. Free Pizza every Friday for happy hour and Genesse draft pints all the time for $1.75. You won't find a local craft beer on tap here, but you will find dozens of TVs for every sporting event. Trivia TV games are popular with the regulars and football is big here with of course the Buffalo Bills headlining the NFL ticket on Sundays. Food is ordered and delivered from the kitchen next store (gets around the smoking in restaurant law), it's basic bar food, wings, burgers, tacos, etc., but does feature a Buffalo favorite Beef on the Weck. No live music, but a Touch Tunes jukebox pumps out the jams. There is also several electronic dart boards, along with a few video games. With two large bars, lots of high top tables, this place can handle a mob. If you smoke (for a short while it was non-smoking), you will love this place. If you don't, not so much, especially if it...
Read moreI would never visit a Buffalo Anything there are 25 retail shoppers there. And I never in my life would go into a place named Buffalo. I was born here in St. Pete other times referred to as "the bird". And I went to Publix so please stop asking me questions that do not pertain to Florida Living. Because I have lived here all my life I can say that. I'm not interested in anything except College Football that doesn't have anything to do with Florida. We have the Daytona 500 and the 50th Anniversary of our Wonderful National Hot Rod Association led by some of the most wonderful people in the world. Steve Torrence is our Top Fuel Champion for 2018 and for that he will always be a champion. Just Like Don Garrits, Don the snake Prudbome, Shirley Muldowny, A.J. Foyt, The Allison Family, The Unser Family. And on and on Richard Petty will always be great. So as long as you have these wonderful experiences going on in Florida. The Rolex 24 hours of Daytona, Thd St. Pete Grand Prix, Sebring, Thd Great Bradenton Raceway. That's what makes Florida great. Besides the beautiful west coast with fishing, and beaches. You cant be at it so Buffalo serves me no...
Read moreWORST PLACE EVER!!! My family and I went there for the first time tonight expecting a good experience. As we arrived, there was nobody to greet us or seat us. We seated ourselves, we found our own menus and silverware. We had to find our own waiter before we could get drinks. There was very slow service with only one cook and one waiter, as the others weren't paying attention. My mother ordered Parmesan tender and they tasted old and like they have been microwaved. My stepdad ordered the burrito, making him sick. My 2 year old brother had pizza, he wouldn't even eat the pizza because the cheese taste sour. My boyfriend had a Ruben, it was dried out and nasty. I ordered the nachos. The chips were cold, the olives tasted bad, and it tasted like something out the microwave. The server and manager were very rude and never asked how we were doing or asked if we needed anything. All and all, the food made us all sick, and the service is unacceptable. I will never go...
