Utterly disappointing. Perhaps I’ve been spoiled with a variety of amazing authentic Mexican cuisine, that coming to a place like this could never satisfy a craving for flavorful Mexican dishes. Reviews on here that come as a shock to me are that the food was good. I ordered a chicken fajita taco salad with queso instead of the cheddar/Monterrey jack shreds it comes with. (First sign of a not so good Mexican place is the cheese). The taco salad was constructed quite differently with COLD GLOBS of queso on top and chicken and steamed peppers mixed throughout. Typically you have meat and peppers in the bottom- hot with the queso poured over. Not here. It was all cold, the chicken was extremely dry and like I said the peppers were steamed, not carmelized as you would expect from traditional fajitas. Also, the chicken had ZERO seasoning. It was bland and just tasted like the oil they cooked it in. Stay away from the chicken here. I informed the waitstaff that the chicken in my salad was cold and dry and just didn’t taste very fresh. I told him I would eat it anyway because we had already been waiting a long time and I was literally starving, but he basically demanded that I let them remake it so I did. I appreciate the effort but even remade it was dry and unseasoned, and flavorless, but at least the meat wasn’t cold. However the rest of my family had finished eating and I wound up only taking a few bites. Then the owner proceeded to try to talk me into liking his awful food, explaining that people order it all the time. He later conceded that they normally get the beef taco salad which would explain how he sells them as their beef is not nearly as awful as their chicken. It actual has some flavor. However, he shocked me when he said they’d been in business for 13 years. I don’t know how they could be profitable other than overcharging for terrible food and slow service. It was $50 for 3 entrees and an awful queso appetizer. If you read this and still go stick to beef, steak, the quac, the green sauce, and the rice. Just stay far away from chicken anything. And expect to over pay for food that...
Read moreWhat was meaning to be a family dinner of 13 turned into a complete nightmare and disaster. Do-yourself a favor and steer clear from this restaurant. We should have ran when they were not able to give us 13 complete menus and we had to share with what little we got. We ordered drinks and waited for some time to get very small baskets of stale chips with what appeared to be just tomatoes,as that was not salsa, it tasted like tomatoes. The queso had been microwaved. It was like gravy and disgusting they charge $10 for a little glass bottle of Coke. We ordered alcoholic beverages, but the majority of the party had just ordered Waters. We were there for a half hour before they finally asked us if we wanted something to eat. At this point we decided due to the chips, salsa, queso and the poor quality of the alcoholic beverages that it would be best if we just scrapped our losses and left. That is where things took an ugly turn. Although we did not eat any queso except for several bites, we did not eat really any chips because they were stale, and barely drank any of the alcoholic beverages as they did not taste right we were still going to be gracious enough to leave them something when he brought us our bill it was $76.99 they tried to charge us $20 for tax and to force a tip on us. Remind you we had not ordered anything I had got just chips salsa queso that consisted of three little tiny baskets of steel chips . The two cokes were in a bottle, the two dos Equis were in a bottle, the several Margaritas were barely touched. We proceeded to tell them we would leave them around $30 as we felt that that was fair compensation. He turned extremely hostile screaming and yelling at the women of our party. He demanded that we paid him we ended up leaving around $50 cash as we felt like that was fair compensation as stated nothing was barely drank or ate and we had not ordered any food. We had expressed our dissatisfaction in a nice calm manner and told him that we were going elsewhere to eat and they still were hostile. Absolute terrible experience do yourself a favor and please steer clear...
Read moreFirst off, no reservations required. Secondly, most important...the food...fantastic! Easily in my top 5 best Mexican plates ever eaten. SPICY! Omg, but very flavorful. Not sure what the sauce was exactly but it was green and very delicious I had the enchiladas and I've never been asked if I wanted them spicy until last night. Probably been to at least 25 mexican restaurants so far. Big standout there. The queso cheese was great, as well as the beans. I don't like rice, so I didn't try. Margaritas were good & strong. We went at 8pm and they gave me 2-4-1 for $6.50 I believe. But there was nobody eating there for some reason. Very surprised being that it was Saturday at 8pm. Probably a popular lunch-break place. They need a big sign on the street. I've lived in Seminole about 3 years, way longer around Pinellas, and I cannot believe I didn't try them til now. Every time I want Mexican food, I got my place pegged for good. As long as they remain open, I'll keep eating there. Oh, and the owners were very nice people. Always came around at the perfect time. Not overly helpful if you know what I mean. Just a great place to eat. Seriously...give their place a try. You will be back for sure, especially if you like spicy beef enchiladas. I'd probably be back in there tonight if they weren't...
