My name is Linda Lou and I’m a retired server. I’ve been a server all my professional life whether in fine dining or my last place of employment, a diner. Whenever I’m traveling I love to eat at local diners, they add a personal touch along with great home cooking. My husband and I stopped in at your diner this past Friday oh about 12:30 pm. I knew the time cause my daughter had just texted me, anyway, we had eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. Our breakfast could only be described as awesome! The young lady who waited on us had short blond hair she was amazing. Friendly, professional, and had a soft spoken voice, she was a doll. Sitting near us was another woman who caused an unbelievable scene. I could hear the exchange between her and her server, who was the same server we had. The server was only trying to clarify her order just to make sure the customer would get exactly what she wanted. Let me explain, restaurants have different ways or ordering what customers may think as a stand order but, because I’ve worked in the industry, employers may and do ask that you write orders a certain way and ask specific questions because of the way their menus set up. This particular woman lost her mind and embarrassed herself beyond belief. Everyone in the dining area could hear her. She took it a step further and continued to complain up at the counter area. I want to say this… serving is one of the hardest jobs you can do in life. You have to be a special type of person to handle the stresses of this kind of job and our server exemplified those skills. I’m going to finish by saying again, our server was extremely professional and friendly. She handled herself exactly right trying to deescalate the situation. She is an asset to...
Read moreFirst, the 1 star review a handful of reviews down from this one is a lie. I was at the restaurant when a plumbing issue occurred. The staff did EVERYTHING right to fix the issue, keep things clean, and keep the diner running. I have never seen employees run around faster to fix an issue, so just remember there will always be someone wanting to ruin businesses for no reason.
This is the diner that we all need in our life. Everytime we are in Florida we try to make it for breakfast daily. Remember when diners were the forefront of childhood experiences that offered comfort, kindness, and obviously great food? Maria and her family do just that. There is no other place like it. The food is exactly what you need on any day and any occasion. Eileen and her husband make you feel like you are at home and treat you better than anything. My young daughters get treated to special dishes everytime they arrive. We won't see the family at the diner for months at a time as we live in Ohio, but they remember us and our orders like it was yesterday. I've seen people fly into the diner at 5 minutes till close and everyone is still just as kind as they were when starting the day-no rough attitudes here even after a long day. You can't beat this place and it is the reason why we all need to support our small businesses. There will never be another Seminole Diner. Oh, and did I mention how clean this place is? If you are in the area you have to make a stop, the prices, food, cleanliness and atmosphere with the family...

Seminole Diner is a diner to the extreme—a counter with stools and staff yelling over each other. Servers were pleasant and mostly efficient. The menu looked like one I’ve seen a thousand times. Prices were fair.
On my first time in any breakfast diner, I get several standard things. Usually most are good with one clunker. Here everything had problems. The scrambled eggs were bland and should have been fluffier. The ham slice was spongy and bland. Searing the ham on the grill would have given it better texture and some flavor. No one could give me the origin of the biscuits, so it’s obvious that they’re not homemade. They were dense and flavorless, and the chef needs to find a better source. Cutting the biscuit in half and putting it on the grill would have helped a bit. The French toast could have been good. But they made the big mistake of putting the hot French toast on a cold plate creating wetness and a very soggy bottom on the French toast. Last was the grits which the server insisted they made from scratch. Maybe so, though I have my doubts. In any case, they were soupy and incredibly bland. Adding a lot of butter, salt and pepper helped a bit.
Five out of five food items had problems. I see no...
