Tavi's unusually shaped restaurant doesn't lend to the romantic ambiance you would usually expect. However, don't let that stop you from enjoying some very delicious Italian food. Tavi's feels more like a Cafe than an a restaurant. The ambiance we did enjoy was the music. There was a nice mix of oldies, jazzy, Frank Sinatra type music which we really enjoyed. Probably the one thing we didn't like was the lack of alcohol, however, we ran into this at other local restaurants so not serving wine or beer may be a local thing. What was really nice was that we were informed that it is BYOB. Who doesn't enjoy a glass of wine with their pasta? Our server even directed us to the closest liquor store, which I went to after we ordered. I ordered the Roma Specia with chicken from the front page and swapped spaghetti for linguini. My husband had Scarpella (?) With veal. It's so nice to get veal and Tavi's offers veal on almost every dish. Bonus! The Italian sausage in my Roma was very tasty. We really like Italian sausage and this one was extra yummy. Each dish seemed to be on point! Just enough sauce, right amount if veggies. No sparing the protein. And flavor abundance. Our entrées came with salad and fresh rolls. I tried the tomato based vinegrette. It was good, just a bit sweet. The rolls were light and fluffy and quite tasty. The service was very kind, helpful and accommodating. The food was Very tasty. The atmosphere was ok. Had they not had great music suited for an Italian restaurant, it would've totally felt like a café. We didn't bring the dog and I don't think we could've brought him inside. If we had to sit outside, I think we would've left as the tables look like they were picked up in the side of the road. Thank goodness it looks nothing like that inside. Night and day different, which is odd since people see the outside first. One big bonus... they brought chilled glasses for the wine and beer we BYOBed. Kudos!!!!! AND they have a cork screw, which the liquor store didn't even have. Go figure. Thank you, Tavi's! You did a good job!

WORST PIZZA EVER! OMG, I have NEVER had such terrible pizza. DO NOT order their pizza. I had family visiting in town and we ordered two small pizzas. The pizza looks nothing like the pictures. I ordered a margherita pizza and it was SOAKED in garlic and oil (see pictures). It was utterly inedible. The garlic was so strong that it was burning my mouth. The tomatoes were not cooked with the pizza. Tasted like they were added on after like they forgot. My dad ordered a pizza with sausage and bell peppers (not standard on their menu special) and it also was terrible and had strong garlic. It is thin, little sauce and the tastes are not balanced. Not New York style at all. I called and the manager offered to remake the pizzas or order two additional pizzas another time. This was not enough. If you do not deliver edible food, I deserve a cash refund. Why would I try the pizza again? I do not trust an Italian restaurant that cannot make a basic pizza. I regret wasting my money here. Do not come here.

I was looking for a good Italian place somewhere around Mabank. I did not think Bilitos in Mabank was any good so we tried this place. The food is delicious the service is so nice and warm hearted. Run like a family. The dish I ordered was the "Chicken Scar Pella", hands down by far their best dish. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and it was okay. There was a lotta people picking up in the drive thru, they were picking up their pizza. I had to order one since I so Picking up. It was really good. Make sure you ask for extra cheese , fyi.

Service was a bust. When we walked in it wasn't busy @4 pm Sunday. No welcome in , we didn't get seated or addressed as if we weren't staying. I let the lady know I was new and it was my first visit . You'd think since I said that , that the lady would've let us know how it works here. I wasn't sure if we were supposed to sit and order like a waitress service or if it was like a stand at the front and tell them what you want . Because she just gave us 1 menu and walked away . Left us standing at the register. So we took it upon ourselves to have a seat and look over the menu and see what the options were for pizza we weren't sure if it was by the slice or if you had to buy it as a whole or what or how that works. So we sat down and they seated three more people and they finally came over and asked well not they, she ,finally came over and asked if we wanted to order and was it for here or to go. I let her know that we wanted to order and we wanted it for here .So then she asked me if I wanted a drink and I said yes and she turns the menu over and points at the drinks and goes what would you like to drink? I then said two Dr peppers will be great. So I got up to go to the restroom in between ordering the pizza and the drinks and I went to the register and I asked if she could please put us in an order of the fried mushrooms which is an appetizer on their menu She huffed and puffed wrote it on her pad and said ugh okay. So I went on to the restroom which is insanely named "toilet". I was appalled at that name restroom even bathroom would pass, but not toilet. Anyways went on through we waited exactly 35 minutes for two slices of pizza and a drink which I thought I don't know if that's good or if it's not but when the pizza came out it was amazing The food was great I slowly ate my two pieces of pizza and enjoyed every bite of them however we never received the fried mushrooms. I am a firm believer that your attitude is 90% of the service. I am in the service industry and I lead a team that has to project that on a daily basis. So for me being a new customer at this restaurant I will be ordering pizza ,but I'm not sure if I'll go inside anymore .I should have had a great experience especially since she knew when I...

Our service was excellent, the man was very polite and accommodating. We got fried mushrooms as a starter. The breading was very bland, there was really no flavor at all to the mushrooms. The marinara helped add flavor to the mushrooms, and I thought it to be a pretty good marinara. My son ordered a ham and provolone sub. The bread was toasty and good, the ham was nothing special, just square lunch meat ham. He said it was okay and tasted like a sandwich. My husband and I ordered the chicken florentine. The chicken was good the sauce was decent. My complaint about the sauce is that it was very runny. It seemed to have been made with milk and not a heavy cream, as it was not very creamy. The sauce also seemed to lack the parmesan flavor I'm used to in an Alfredo sauce. The meals came with a side salad, it was just iceberg lettuce and one piece of diced tomato. My suggestion would be to maybe add some black olive and croutons, maybe even a leaf lettuce instead of iceberg. The house Italian dressing was very good. The croissant like rolls were very soft, flaky, and fresh. Personally, I think a little olive oil, basil, remarry, garlic dipping oil would be fantastic with these. Overall, the food was decent and more than edible, but nothing to make me want to return for. The service was great! I think with a few changes to seasoning this place could...
