First time to try this place and our last.

My wife wanted a steamed sandwich. They were a little higher than other places for a sandwich ($12) but not too unreasonable. Her favorite is ham salami and cheese.

They only had ham and cheese option but salami on another sandwich.

She asked waitress if they wouldn't mind replacing some of the ham with salami and the waitress said it was not a problem.

When the bill arrived there was $3.50 add on for swapping a slice or two of hame to salami.

I asked about the charge at the register and indicated the waitress never mentioned an additional fee when ordering and that it was "not a problem "

They didn't care.

I further noted that they were now charging $15.50 for a ham salami and cheese sandwich, which was among the highest priced items on their menu.

They didn't care.

I let them know that if they insisted on the upcharge that I would write a review and never be back.

They didn't care !

So here is my review .... and I don't plan to be back.

It's that small town diner. No frills or thrills. I like some things and others not so much. So let's talk about it.

Bologna Sandwich: Thick rag Bologna, good taste, no weird seasonings. It's griddle fried, not smoked. Comes on toasted texas style bread. It's a good sandwich.

They use salted butter on the toast, the bologna is salty, and the cheese "food" is salted. So it's a salty bite. You will need some veggies on it to help offset it.

Pintos: I won't call them canned, but they weren't fresh. You can tell by how starchy the soup it. Were they bad? No, but they weren't great. No fatback or bacon to add flavor, just meh.

Seating: Max inside seating looks to about 46. So one big party could ruin someone's supper plans. It's not a big issue, just something to think about.

Overall: I liked it and will be back. I'll just won't get the beans again.

Pros: Friendly staff, fair prices, clean, plenty of choices.

the food was absolutely delicious. omg.. that Oreo creme pie was SO rich but so delicious. it's absolutely amazing. the chicken sandwich was also really good, perfectly fried chicken. the service was really good as well! i can't remember their name, but I remember someone who had really cool earrings, I can't remember if it was a dragon or not, but they were very nice. the atmosphere was cute. it reminded me of a little southern home, real cute. although I did feel a lot of eyes on me since.. well, I dress emo/gothic. I also was confused by one of the signs.. I remember it was like, "if you get offended by any of these, you can leave", and one of the sayings was "merry Christmas"?? um, okay. that confused me quite a bit, but alright. overall, it was a...
