Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Shallotte

Had one of the best hot fudge sundaes I've ever had tonight! The ice cream was so smooth and creamy like DQ is supposed to be. The girl who made them (the newer of the two there tonight) did a great job making them with lots of topping carefully poured all over the ice cream. Great job! I'll come back more often if it continues to be like this.

This place is still poorly run by its owner. Should not be a Dairy Queen franchise. After I paid for vanilla ice cream the machine broke (again) and my only option was chocolate. They refused to refund my money. And the chocolate ice cream was no good either. It was watery and icy like the vanilla is so often. The owner does not seem to maintain the equipment properly and loses lots of business accordingly. The entire line behind me went out the door with their money. Dairy Queen needs to close this franchise and get someone to open up a real Dairy Queen here. Oh, and last time, I clicked on the link that the owner provided time and wasted my time there providing the same information and received no response.

This ice cream is not Dairy Queen quality 80% of the time. It is watery and full of ice most likely due to the machines not being cleaned often enough. You shouldn't carry the Dairy Queen flag if you only provide Dairy Queen quality 20% of the time.

The girls who work here are great. They work hard and try to do the best they can to treat the customers right. I give them 5 stars. Unfortunately, they can only do so much when they are constantly running out of ice cream. How can you run an ice cream shop when you let it run out of ice cream all the time? Ruins an otherwise great experience at Dairy Queen which I have frequented my whole life. I give the owners and managers 0 stars. I've been to many DQs in many places in my lifetime and this is the only one that I've ever heard of running out of ice cream. And it happens regularly. Shoddy way to run an iconic company that has always been known and loved for...

Ok.. So you guys know I don't pull punches.. So here goes ... I know ice cream is normally a summertime treat. But when you live in Brunswick County, you can have warm days All Seasons round... I have been dealing with this location in concern with they're moolatte machine. The staff there are always Pleasant, and I know this is really a corporate issue, and I'm saying this to get attention up the ladder. I was told buy an employee, that because it's off-season the machines were too expensive to fix. I would like for the owners of this particular Dairy Queen chain to know, we the local people are the supporters through those down months when no one else is "visiting" And where we bring our visiting families who ALL visit through the summer. Like 14 niece's and nephews.. Brothers, sisters, ... I mean, we live at the beach...... Please, fix our moolatte machines.. At least...
