Hate giving poor reviews but the last 3 times I have gone to the Giant Orange I have left there unhappy. Last time I went the service wasn't good. Asked if I could get our toast toasted (4 plates) because what we got was warmed bread with melted butter. It was floppy and had nothing toasted about it. When requested this the server was visibly irritated. Ask for refills that never came. Fast forward to today my son and I went in and ordered 1 coffee and 2 ice waters. My coffee didn't come until after they brought my food. Our water cups sat empty for way to long. When a server walked past I said excuse me..... Nothing!! Needless to say when we got our food chickens fried steak and gravy was good the eggs and hasbrowns were on another warmed plate but they were cold. I asked for A1 and I was given a empty bottle. But the topper was I ordered a 16 Broasted chicken pieces. When I got them there were only 15 pieces which isn't that big of a deal but had got 2 pieces for each person going to the lake today. When I told the lady she kept making me count and recount then asked me if I ordered the 15 piece??? Wth there is no 15 piece. But told me I could wait 15 minutes for a new one. Must admit the Broasted chicken...
Read moreThe French toast with maple syrup was simply heavenly. The toast was perfectly cooked, with a golden brown crust and a soft, fluffy interior. The generous drizzle of maple syrup added a sweet, sticky goodness that made every bite a delight.
The burger was equally impressive. It was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The patty was thick and packed with deliciousness, while the toppings added an extra layer of scrumptiousness. And let's not forget the generous portions of French fries that accompanied the meal. They were crispy, well-seasoned, and addictive.
What truly made the dining experience exceptional was the attentive and friendly service. Our waitress made sure to give us her undivided attention and even offered to split the food so we could share. She consistently checked on us, ensuring our water was filled, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and satisfied.
Overall, this American diner in Shasta Lake exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty and enjoyable...
Read moreI was driving through Redding and was hungry, so my husband checked maps to see what was close to the freeway but not fast food. After being in the car all morning, we wanted a place where we could get out of the car and relax. My husband navigated us to Joe's Giant Orange. I'll be honest, I was not initially impressed - it is, after all, as the name impies, ORANGE - bright orange. However, I walked in and immediately changed my mind. The waitress (I think she may have actually been the owner) was amazing and greeted us like friends and it smelled so good inside. We sat down, and the menu looked amazing! I eventually settled on the chicken enchilada plate, and it was delicious - on the level of a full-on mexican restaurant delicious. The food had great flavor, which can be lacking at other well-known places. I'm so happy we found this place! This will definitely be a stop on the next trip through Redding. Never judge a restaurant by its exterior - this place is...
