Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy Store — Restaurant in Shawnee

Usually this place isn’t terrible but tonight was a different story. Not to mention it was barely busy when we got there. We was told they was out of Braums sauce when they asked my husband what sauce he wanted for his chicken strips and we was like that’s fine. They forgot to add fries to both kids meals and we was missing someone’s food. But we had ordered 2 chicken dinner meals. And guess what? there was Braums sauce in those. So I went up there and asked for some just to get told they was out again. So I said that’s funny you said that a minute ago when we ordered but somehow we ended up with some in our chicken dinners. And the lady I assume the evening manager as this was around 5 said we are out except for what’s out there. Which we already knew was a lie since it came in our dinners. Well since it was out we got gravy and one gravy was like water and the other one was clumpy. We was going to get ice cream for my brothers birthday but after they lied to us about the Braums sauce and the gravy being gross we decided if we was going to get ice cream to go...

The food at Braum’s is great as always. Nothing compares to their gravy and chicken strips! I got a junior burger, chicken strips, fries, and a chocolate malt with Oreos to try. (Had a bad migraine and everything was making me nauseous.) The quality of their food is so great, I ate everything!

Service was lacking from the start, however. The manager stood around before taking my order and was standoffish when doing so. I had to ask for the two malts in my order and staff seemed to scoff it off. When I got mine, it was plain chocolate and I was too nervous to ask for it to be remade with the Oreos I paid for due to uncomfortable looks and laughter from staff. My husband did have it remade and it was okay. Definitely over blended to the point where it was just essence of Oreo and not anything to crunch/eat at the end like usual. I miss the old staff!

The atmosphere is clean and comfortable but hard to enjoy when staff looks off put by customers...

I love this place but....It takes time cook the food, bacon, meat cheese ect. Right, especially if it's busy. I get that but how on Gods green earth does it take on average 5 minutes longer to put ice cream in a cup....it's not this location...it's every location I have ever been too. Think about the time to cook a freash bacon cheeseburger and then compare that time against putting ice cream in a cup. What? Meanwhile the food is just setting getting cold....Usually the food is great...I will go back but I will never order icecream with my meal ever again. My order was ready then they started working on my malt. Not kidding and they were not that busy...but they always use that one as an excuse. I just don't get it...frying the burgers, bacon, putting the burger together and then having to wait about an additional 10 min for someone to put ice cream in a...
