Vene’s Pancake House: A Hidden Brunch Gem Worth Every Bite
Tucked away in an unassuming part of town, Vene’s Pancake House is the kind of place you stumble upon after a casual Google search and end up raving about for days. That’s exactly how we found this fantastic breakfast and brunch hideout—and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were met with a clean, cozy, and inviting atmosphere. The kind of place where the coffee is always fresh, the service is warm and attentive, and the menu—oh, the menu—is a dream for breakfast lovers. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast bowl, a perfectly fluffy omelet, classic biscuits and gravy, or the kind of pancakes that make you rethink everything you thought you knew about breakfast, Vene’s delivers.
Let’s talk about those pancakes. Hands down, some of the best we’ve ever had—light, airy, and melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Seriously, skipping them would be a crime. Each bite was so satisfying that we were rendered speechless for at least 30 minutes, completely immersed in the sheer joy of our meal. So much so, in fact, that we forgot to take pictures. And that’s saying something.
Pair that with outstanding coffee, fresh juices, and a variety of teas, and you’ve got a brunch experience that’s tough to beat. The service? Impeccable. You can tell the staff truly cares, creating an experience that goes beyond just great food—it’s hospitality at its finest.
A quick pro tip: Arrive early to snag a seat, bring your friends and family, and dress appropriately. This isn’t your average hole-in-the-wall; it’s a well-run, polished gem where the food and service deserve the same level of appreciation in return.
Vene’s Pancake House is an easy 11 out of 10—a true diamond in the rough. We’ll be back, we’ll be recommending it to everyone we know, and we’ll be dreaming about those pancakes until next time. Hats off to the chefs and staff—what an absolute...
Read moreThis is a rare 5 for me. About 7 culturally varied dishes (breakfast) in 4 categories all with an $11 price tag makes this menu creative. Food lives up to billing from a very favorable Sheboygan Press article recently. We visited mid morning on a Saturday and it was busy. There aren't many tables and no outside seating so there could be a wait at times. And it does seem a bit closed in as a result. I had the Mardigras omelette special which was very flavorful. Coffee is exceptionally good. There is a Mexican nuance despite the name. Fortunately the owners didn't decorate in gaudy Mexican. It's more plain and tastefully done. One wonders about the residential location. At this point they don't need more traffic from a better one. There are only 3 off street parking spaces but parking on the street isn't difficult. There are 2 steps to negotiate for the handicapped. Size portion is good for us at our age and health considerations. Big eaters might think it's small. Prices are the new, post Covid norm. We be back often to this place. Currently the front is being redone. There is a credit...
Read more**Edit: I have visited this establishment 3times now and on the third time I was charged more than what bill reflected. I inquired about the discrepancy with the employee and she just pointed in the general direction of the register, indicating the front of the register. My eyes finally saw a small sign only slightly larger than an index card stating that there is an additional charge of ~4% added to credit/debit card purchases. This is the only place that this charge is posted to make patrons aware. I feel that this potential charge should be posted in a more visible location so patrons can make an informed decision on payment prior to ordering.
Very good food, service and atmosphere. Limited space/tables without...
