As the only 24 hour Walgreens in the county we have worked with this pharmacy for 13 years.
As a mother with loved ones with disabilities we survive on the $1,000's of dollars of prescriptions we get monthly. It's imperative to know your medications and work closely with your providers to manage them. There are a couple pharmacists (Chuck and Patty) that have been phenomenal to my family for over a decade. With most pharmacies being huge chains it's hard to find that kind of personable relationship with your pharmacist.
Walgreens has been hit with huge federal fines and puts a lot of pressure on their pharmacy staff. The choice to care about each customer shows the quality and kindness of the staff. I'm so thankful to have them as part of our health care team. Day or night they are there to explain side effects etc. There have been times I've been so busy with family I suddenly need a script filled late at night or after a hospital visit. They always rush to minimize our wait and stress.
We had one mishap and the pharmacist was so embarrassed and honorable, sincerely apologizing. Honestly, the only frustrations we've had are that one of the techs acts very unenthused to help us, I honestly don't think she's aware of how she carries herself. No harm no foul. And for some reason there will be times a doctor calls in a script and rather than fill it the script disappears into some void where you have to call and request it be filled. I'm not sure if others notice, but at times instead of getting the actual store Walgreens will forward your calls to a national call line, but they are always helpful and kind.
As far as the store itself, the lines can pile up fast, but the staff tries and is always hard at work. Even if the costs are a bit higher we do prefer to shop here for our beauty products. Their holiday products are often unique and fun for the kids.
There is a CVS across the corner, but their lot is always empty. We've used them for scripts but I always come back to Walgreens because it's worth it to me to know my pharmacist knows our script list and will protect us from potential...
Read moreI really question if this is even a competent place. There have been numerous times they need to "fax" the physician after their automated system left a voicemail telling me a prescription was ready for pickup. We have had other times they have a out of stock situation for a typical refill. We have 3 walgreen in sheboygan... 2 of them within 2 miles of each other and yet they refuse to comunicate with the other two. They instead refer us to go to Plymouth as the have it in stock and can refer the script. They blame my physician for the confusion, blame the automated system, my insurance.... But will credit me some reward points for my troubles? Im sorry. Over the long haul... I have zero confidence in them. At some point it is kind of a critical clog in the wheel of treatment. They seem not phased at all if it takes an extra day or two to fill a prescription. Its not like ordering a burger at mcdonalds. I feel this locations pharmacy is in over its head with the amount of prescriptions. They seem like they dont have enough staff. And i would agree with some of the other comments... The management seems combustible and combative. Its not like im concerned about a coupon here. They are miss firing on some pretty important stuff and dont want to address it other than 'good god we said we are sorry and want to give you reward points but its not our fault...." Ok but repeatedly they screw the pooch. Im getting away from them. I have to take it more serious then them. Personally i think the state needs to reassess their licenses at this location. I can not believe any medical institution that performs as inconsistently as this location is working within the requirements. I just will give my concerns to the state and they can take it for what its worth. I would unfortunately have to be blunt and honest here... My opinion... If you can go somewhere else... I would advise it. I find it hard to believe they have it in for me. In my case... Multiple times in the last year... And im...
Read morePharmacy review, not the store itself, that's another review. So we had to have a prescription sent over from another pharmacy, because of insurance, okay, fine. But when they said it would be $400 out of pocket, because it had to be a name brand, because they didn't have an alternative in stock, again, okay, fine. That's been the norm lately it seems. But the problem is, when we tried to ask questions, the older gal with glasses n dark hair, behind the counter was beyond rude, being short, major eye rolling, etc, when i tried to ask questions. She said something about wanting to go on break to her coworker, okay, then go, but don't take it out on customers. I've had problems with her in the past, and after this, I'll get her name and take it to corporate, it's been years that she's acted this way, she has no respect for customers. It's unbelievable. She treated the elderly couple in front of us the same way, like we were all a burden to her, by making her do her job. Look at the other reviews, it would be -5 if I could, but 1 is the lowest choice. It's definitely not the pharmacy it has been in the past....
