I am writing to express my disappointment with the customer service I experienced at your Big Apple Bagels location in Shelby Township, Michigan, on 25 Mile Road, on the morning of August 10, 2025, at approximately 7:30 AM.
During my morning walk with my 14-pound service dog, who was on a leash, I decided to stop by your store to purchase a bag of bagels, muffins, and a coffee. I had heard positive reviews about the quality of your products and was looking forward to my visit, despite not being a frequent customer.
Upon entering the store and waiting briefly, a female employee at the cashier addressed me in a firm and unwelcoming tone, stating, āYou cannot be here; we donāt allow dogs in the store.ā I was surprised by her abruptness, as she did not greet me or attempt to engage politely. I explained that I intended to place a takeout order and would not be dining in, but she reiterated, with a raised voice, that dogs were not allowed. Frustrated, I picked up my dog and began to leave, at which point she mentioned I could order outside. By then, I was too disappointed to proceed and declined to place an order.
While I respect that your store may have policies regarding pets, I believe the situation could have been handled with greater professionalism and courtesy. A polite explanation or an offer to assist me with my order in a respectful manner would have made a significant difference. Instead, the employeeās approach felt dismissive and lacked the human touch.
I am sharing this feedback in the hope that it fosters greater awareness and encourages your team to reinforce the importance of customer service. I strongly recommend additional training for your staff to ensure that all customers are treated with respect and appreciation, as these small gestures can greatly enhance the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really tried to like this place as I live down the street, this was my second bad service from 2 different people. First incident the lady threw my change at the counter as my hand was out ok no big deal. I went in today patiently waiting ordered a combo for myself with a coffee and one for my husband as the girl handed me my coffee I said my husbands was regular she said she didnāt charge me ok fine paid for his coffee. As you hand someone 2 black coffees you would think to ask if we needed cream sugar? So I stood there finally said may I have cream she handed me 3 cream packets get my husbands coffee again no cream, I look to the side of the counter looking for cream and stirrer considering I just added my cream and the older women at the register rudely says to me what did you need. I replied a stirrer she said we keep that behind the counter and the next time you can just ask if you need something⦠well letās see Iām sure when someone gets a coffee I donāt have to ask for cream, sugar and a stirrer if you had that out and you want to have an attitude with me. Honestly I like to give people a second chance but I doubt Iāll be back. Change your attitude and teach your younger staff the proper way when serving items that would need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to give this place a five star rating, but they always seem to mess up my order. I have to open my sandwiches before I leave because who wants to go to work with the wrong/incorrect sandwich. It should also be noted that the woman in the back making the sandwiches should be wearing a hairnet or put her hair up all the way. Her hair is dragging down her face with the headband and that is so appalling to see someone preparing food your food like that casually. I also believe if they remove the plastic plastic dividers at the register, maybe the young girl in the hat would be more enthused and would actually listen to what you ordered versus typing it incorrectly.
Updated again after visiting a few times. The same woman is there and still no hairnet. Hair hanging down by her face and all. When asking for my order, felt like I was bothering her with questions about items or if they can cut the bagel before wrapping.. very unenthusiastic. Seems like customers have agreed too like we are burdens for...
