Heat!
I find myself transported to a new dimension, not one that is describable by the chilled physical sensation of the icy cool Dr. Pepsi that i drink with my top of the line Orange Peel bendy straw. No rather i find myself in a dimension of pure absolute heat! I had left an order with the waitress for a chicken sandwich, made requests for a specialty Briochesque Pretzel bun and had an additional breast of chicken added for good measure. When i requested the Orange Peel staff treat this burger to their signature favorite " Ghost Pepper Cheese" i was not expecting such an out of this world experience. First i bit into this Goliath finding it a tenuous exertation to find purchase anywhere for my jaws. I am no stranger to extreme agility in regards to this! I have assumed the task of defeat monster - sized burgers/ sandwiches for years. To me a Mcdonalds Burger is no more than a Baby Burger. But this burger was truly a challenge to behold. As i begin to dig in to the burger i felt a terrible struggle between the forces of my stomach foolishly requesting more and the nerve and neuron synapses of my mind struggling to comprehend the data overload provided by such an assault of delicious perfectly cooked chicken breast combined with prime and ripe for the pickings fruit of tomato slices, chilled and sharp lettuce which cuts like the blade of excalibur! Or the volcanic heat of the Ghost pepper cheese combined with the overflowing Magma that the Ghost pepper sauce brought onto me! My mind began to collapse as finally the questions i had sought answers to for so very long on this arduous path through the cyclical nature of the mortal coil i endeavor was met. I had achieved Nirvana and i was filled and satisfied by half of the burger. I boxed the rest and later that night i treated the other half to a glass of favorite champagne as i gestulated on the true beauty of the universe!
I don't always eat burgers, but when i do . I choose Orange...
Read moreI don't get the hype.. People in this area rave about the place, i have been there 5 times in the last month or so and it is average at best. I got the mini-omelet and first.. it's not mini in anyway, easily a 3 egg, Not much of a complaint, just letting you know. It was overcooked badly (a omelet shouldn't be brown and hard on the outside), but the main issue is whatever cheese they use is easily the worst i have ever had. Somehow the cheese was steaming hot yet still more solid than melted and was chalky with no flavor. If it weren't for that it would have been OK, the only upside is their cook actually knows that an omelet should be folded with stuff inside, not just scrambled eggs with items mixed in which is infuriating. I don't think any actual good diners exist in this area.. will keep looking though..
P.S. their normal breakfasts are fine.. nothing amazing but decent enough and usually cooked...
Read moreOrange Peel at 22 Mile Road and Schoenherr! After patronizing this restaurant for over 25 years, even back when it was on 15 Mile in Sterling Heights, we have never been treated so rudely. Overheard the owner talking to the waitress and she explained that “they are paying their bill now”. He then said “I don’t care kick them out”! We realized that he was talking about us. My husband was still eating his breakfast at the time. I approached the waitress and told her he is extremely rude and we will not be back ever! We totally understand that all restaurants suffered greatly during this pandemic but that is no excuse to treat your...
