There's construction around this area but you can still access both driveways to get here, plenty of parking around lunch time (12:05pm). The staff/hostess was very nice and friendly! When I said I don't normally come here because I'm taking an unusual work lunch to-go, she immediately asked if I would like some plates/silverware (which of course I did) and she brought them to me right away. The inside of the restaurant is open and looked clean, unfortunately because I had to take my order to-go I couldn't get the full dine-in experience. The food was in a container but is then wrapped with an extra layer of cling wrap to protect the food from spilling in your car (which is something that I've experienced before) so this was a very nice touch! When I got to work the food was clearly labeled so I knew what each container was prior to unwrapping it. When I did unwrap the food everything was still very HOT and fresh. The Basmatti rice looked very good, not dry, the garlic cheese nann was very flavorful with tons of garlic. For the main entree I ordered a medium spiced lamb jalfrezi and it had TONS of onions & red/yellow peppers, which is actually really great because a lot of places I order food from, I find they tend to take it easier on the veggies. So it was nice to see that this place doesn't do that. The only thing I would really say about it is it does look like they took it a little easier on the lamb instead (I maybe only counted roughly 6ish pieces), but the tenderness of the lamb was PERFECT! It was firm without being too firm and soft without being too soft. I do wish the sauce was a 'little' thicker but that's about it. The lamb jalfrezi definitely hit that flavor palette I was looking for! So the seasonings were on point, it wasn't too sweet, salty or spicy. Just a perfect blend of what I think lamb jalfrezi should taste like. I believe some of the other Indian restaurants around this area had started to slightly change their sauces/seasonings a little bit and so their dishes have been coming out a little bit sweeter than what I prefer or was used to, but this Spice Valley Indian Restaurant still has the spice that is needed in their dishes to keep their guests coming back. All in all this is a 5-star meal with very friendly staff and they are eager to please. I hope they stay around a long time as I will definitely be coming back. =) If you haven't checked this place out, give them a shot. I noticed they also have a lunch buffet special on Fri, Sat. & Sun and kids...

Food Quality👎: The lunch buffet offered limited options, and several dishes, including the biryani, chicken, and mutton curry, were below average. The chicken was spoiled in one batch, but it was promptly remade. The butter chicken and other curries need improvement, and the vegetable options were not tried . The tandoori chicken was the best part of the meal, but overall, the food quality left much to be desired.
Service & Hospitality👎: The service was slow, primarily due to only one front staff handling all tasks. This caused delays in refilling buffet items and attending to customers promptly. While the spoiled chicken was addressed, the service still needs improvement in terms of speed and attentiveness.
Ambience & Cleanliness👍: The restaurant’s atmosphere was decent, and despite the carpet needing cleaning, the overall ambiance was warm and welcoming. The staff worked hard to maintain the dining environment.
Value for Money👎: At $15 per person plus tax and tips, the buffet did not feel worth the cost. The food quality and slow service did not justify the price. For a similar price, better quality dining options are available elsewhere.
Location & Accessibility👍: Conveniently located in Shelby Township, Spice Valley is easily accessible, especially for locals. It’s one of the few Indian restaurant options in the area, making it a popular choice for those nearby.
In conclusion, Spice Valley offers a convenient Indian food option in Shelby Township but fails to impress with its buffet. With limited food options, slow service, and subpar cleanliness, it doesn’t provide good value for money. While the tandoori chicken was decent, the overall dining experience didn’t meet expectations. A return visit might be worth considering for regular dining as we saw...
Read moreVery disappointing experience to say the least. We walked in an hour into their “all you can eat BUFFET” which still was open an hour and a half after us walking in. The buffet had only a few options and very little food left in each dish which the gentleman assured us they were bringing more out as we speak so we sat down and waited for the food to come out. They brought out only a single serving at a time of only a couple of the options they had in the buffet when we repeatedly asked for butter chicken. So we got full off of rice and bread waiting for the food. The single servings they brought out were Luke warm and no where near all you can eat for anyone not even an infant. So 40 minutes of us sitting there they brought out tandoori chicken that was raw. And the gentleman told us “we’re sorry we weren’t expecting anyone to come in today” which is probably the worst response a business man can say. Then 20 minutes later they brought out more tandoori chicken and apologized for it being raw… only to find out that our second serving of tandoori chicken was also raw and bloody after biting into it. Again we expressed our disappointment a second time as we asked for the bill and only 8 dollars was taken off and our concerns of the ingested raw chicken was pushed to the side as he tapped on the credit card machine for us to pay and get out. We will never go there again. 2 servings of the buffet tandoori chicken were both raw and...
