I hate to even leave a negative review, but dining at Jack Binion’s was honestly just not a great experience. The food is very, extremely overpriced for what it is. But beyond that, the lobster bisque was actually not good at all. (Though we ate it because we were starving and our entree food took quite a long time to come out…) The shrimp cocktail was $20 for 4 mid-large shrimp. And then our steaks came out and we’d ordered one each of the 7 and 10 ounce filet mignon - both medium rare. His was cooked fine, but was cold. And mine was well done. We didn’t receive steak knives even though he’d asked for them twice, and so I took my butter knife to mine (which looked terrible, but I hate to complain..) and was shocked at how overcooked it was. I’ve honestly never even seen a steak cooked so far into well done. So we sent it back, and waited for them to cook a new steak. All the while my date is not wanting to eat his in front of me. So it’s getting colder… Mine finally comes out again and it was cooked to medium well. At this point, I just choked it down as much as possible rather than wait again, but still left about half of it. They did remove it from our bill without our asking, but it was such a disappointing experience. Hopefully they’ll be able to sort out whatever kitchen issues they were having, but I still think this is far overpriced for...
Read moreImpeccable and professional attention and service from our experienced server Chuck; a gorgeous dining area with live piano music and a well-stocked bar; and two top drawer dinner entrees that are right up at the top of the list of the best we've ever had, made for one of the best anniversary dinners we have ever enjoyed in our 51 years of marriage.
The 7 ounce filet mignon was so tender my spouse could cut it with her butter knife. The 14 ounce ribeye -- with black truffle butter and mushrooms -- simply melted in my mouth. 💯
Likewise, the shrimp cocktail, the caramelized onion soup, shareable sides (a giant baked potato, plus fried brussel sprouts in bacon!), and caramel cake as well as raspberry cheesecake were all prepared perfectly. And Chuck recommended a perfect wine to go with our dinner.
The striking beauty of the restaurant with its appealing decor, combined with the excellent live music, creates an atmosphere and ambiance that is simultaneously alluring, seductive, and romantic.
It's not a cheap date, but if you are looking for a fine dining restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, I highly recommend Jack Binion's Steakhouse at Horseshoe Indianapolis Casino in Shelbyville. I couldn't be happier with how much we enjoyed this...
Read moreHigh roller food for casino goers. If you want fine dining at the Horseshoe... this is your spot. Made reservations early, which was a good thing because they are now booked til end of june. For an appetizer, I chose the lobster bisque. It was rich and creamy, leaving you wanting more. I then ordered the 14oz ribeye with black truffle butter and foraged mushrooms. The steak was delicious. The cook was a spot on, medium. It was full of juice and had a nice crust. The black truffle butter added a rich flavor as well did the mushrooms. My wife ordered the chicken. Let me just say it was cooked to perfection. Flavor was on point. It was served with roasted carrots accompanied by Au jus sauce on a bed of fingerling potatoes. The service was also top-notch. We never needed to ask for one thing. If there was a hiccup, it was when one dish for the table came out a few minutes late. The reason was the kitchen didn't like the way the cook looked on the steak, so they ordered a re-fire. I will say it was slightly annoying. However, I'd rather have that issue rather than get a subpar steak. Especially paying that price. All in all, they just opened and are bound to have some ironing out to do. The food was good and the service was too....
