I’m kind of hesitant about writing this review because once I do, I think the place will become so popular that everyone will go and we will no longer be able to get a table. The food was amazing, but just the food does not truly explain the experience. First of all the decor, which is now has a casual warm vibrant upgrade inside in the dining room , it was just beautiful total 360 from what it use to be , such a refreshing change. Had the weather cooperated we absolutely would’ve sat outside, a beautiful patio area. Our waitress Laura was amazing. I have always trusted the person that waits on me to help me pick my dinner, after all, who knows better than someone that works there , her suggestion was superb. A beautiful fresh Caesar salad with salmon, I know many restaurants that serve the same, but this was exceptional. Hats off to the kitchen staff! To the owners, a remarkable job reinventing the restaurant. I appreciate the fact that it’s not stuffy or pretentious as in my opinion it used to be. It’s warm and inviting, people having friendly conversations with each other that you can hear from across the room without disturbing your conversation at your table. Although they were getting crowded, we were never rushed, which I greatly appreciate. Having dinner with friends that you haven’t seen in a long time and not being rushed, but we still respected the fact like a visitor in your home there’s a time for you to leave. Only one suggestion, I did not see any Vegan options on the menu it would be great to see you add a selection, this is a deal breaker for some. Popped in for a Friday dinner with the family. I had looked over the menu a few times prior to my visit - and they delivered to expectations.

My wife had the salmon entree, the older kiddo had the classic burger, and the younger had the Mac and cheese. Myself, I had the steak and frittes. We had the warm sour dough bread as a starter.

The starter was great. 4 generous slices of delicious sour dough bread, with a crunchy crust, and chewy bread. The butter with smoked salt to spread on it really elevated it beyond just "bread for the table" you encounter at so many places.

The mains were well prepared, and good sized. The kids Mac and cheese was a nice large serving - made fresh with penne as opposed to elbows. The classic burger - medium - was great tasting and came with a nice side of fries. The salmon dish with cous cous and green beans - the fish was cooked correctly (not over) and fresh; the beans also - with a nice crunch to them. My steak was perfectly medium rare, with a pile of arugula and truffle fries.

So good.

My paper plane (cocktail) was well prepared, as was my wife's espresso martini.

Service was good - not in your face overly attentive, although the bus staff may have been a tad aggressive in clearing plates. Our server was able to answer any questions we had and provided solid advice to the inquiries we made about competing selections.

The ambiance was probably typical for a Friday. Busy, a bit noisy in the dining room. The dining area has ample table spacing - which is a welcome change to many places which really pack you in cheek to jowl.

Would absolutely go again for a treat...

I have been looking forward to the opening of this lovely restaurant and I was not disappointed. I went with friends on a Wednesday at the 5pm opening time. We were quickly seated in a the lovely and freshly renovated dining room. The service was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff. However, as many have said, the food was the star of the show. I would have given the food more than a 5 if possible. I had the chicken sandwich on the house made focaccia and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked, hot and perfectly dressed. While simple, it was the best dine out experience I have had in a very long time. The desserts are not to be overlooked, there were only two to choose from. Perfectly fine...quality over quantity any day. Blueberry cobbler or a coconut carrot cake which was so beautifully presented. I have one tiny comment (not complaint)...as time went on and the dining room filled it really was quite loud. However, this will not stop us from returning...
