Papa B's Pizza & Barbecue — Restaurant in Sherwood

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience going here to eat! The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere was great for the smaller space, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We ordered the garlic cheesy bread and the bbq pizza with pulled chicken instead of pulled pork. The ordering process was different than I expected. You order at the counter and pay right away instead of a waiter coming to the table to take your order. I have no negative or positive thoughts on this process, I just wanted to point it out so folks know what to expect.

The sitting area was comfortable, and the tables were decently spaced. They even have a table with a giant checkers set on it. It was quite busy when we were in there and got a bit noisy, but it wasn't unbearable. We were able to hear one another without issues and without speaking up too loudly.

The garlic cheesy bread came out pretty fast. There was some confusion since the person who brought it out wasn't there when they took our order, but it got to us with just a little reminder. I have to say this is one of the better garlic cheesy breads I've had from a restaurant. The crust was crisp, the layer of crust beneath the cheese was soaked in a perfect amount of garlic butter, and the cheese was melty and held together well. I absolutely recommend this appetizer if you go, especially if you're going for the pizza.

As for the pizza itself, the crust was thin and crisp, the pizza sauce wasn't overpowering, and the toppings and bbq sauce were exquisite. For me, any one of these factors could make or break a pizza. I have to say, the crust itself puts this as a serious contender for best thin crust pizza in the Appleton area. I'd even put it up against the old Frank's pizza palace downtown or Sammy's pizza in Neenah. That bbq sauce is not too sweet, it has the right tangy flavor, and it is quite delicious. The chicken on the pizza was pretty good, too, and the green peppers added a delightful freshness. The shape of the pizza needs a little help as it's not quite round, but that just adds to the charm. I would be very curious how one of the non-bbq pizzas would taste, and I'm looking forward to trying that sometime soon.

Next time, I look forward to trying the pulled chicken sandwich and maybe one of their desserts. With the staff being as friendly as they are and the food being as good as it is, I will definitely be back many more times. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the Sherwood or...

They got 5 stars from me. 100% worth the drive. Just a family living the dream. Pizza and BBQ. Local ice cream for afters, AND they have bourbon flights. Phenomenal. The pizza was pretty solid, and they were busy cranking out orders the whole time we were there. The bbq is above average, and the portion sizes were good overall. Prices are reasonable. They put the bbq sauce on the side with several to try. BBQ chicken is good, and the ribs are great. I had to try their coleslaw, and it did not disappoint. It had a buttermilk tang and perfect crunch. Mac and cheese for a side was ok, and the green beans were standard. The kids loved the pizza and sandwiches. They have a gluten-free menu! The indoor seating is small, 20 seats max. There is outdoor seating. The owners/staff were super. I wish the Sampler Platter had a bit more meat on it for the price, but the quality was there. I'd drive out of my way for this place...

We stayed at High Cliff State Park 9/3-9/10 2025. We first stopped in at Papa B's Pizza & Barbecue for ice cream, they had cedar crest waffle/sugar cones. Great prices. We decided on dinner for Thursday night as it's less busy, had a full order of pulled pork nachos to start with. We LOVE our nachos and this was one of the best we had. The pork was a perfect combination. Hubby and I shared a 3 meat smoked plate, we had chicken, brat, and ribs with 2 sids. That again was exceptional. Had plenty of leftovers. Came Back for ice cream another day and then back for pork nachos day before we left town. Tried a homemade bourbon old fashion sour, also was very good. Wish we lived closer just for thr nachos. Rate 10/10 prices were amazing, absolutely no complaints very clean/awsome staff and owner. This place is a must if...
