We attempted to have a nice and VERY expensive dinner last night. Unfortunately, that’s not what we got. Except for the expensive part. Our fine dining server was completely rude and arrogant. We started off with appetizers. Two orders of shrimp cocktail and the hot duck. The hot duck was very tasty, but only a VERY small wing overpowered with more sauce than anything. Basically 30 dollars for a chicken wing sized piece of duck. The shrimp or prawn cocktail was thee most terrible tasting seafood I’ve ever eaten!!! Completely disgusting. Literally, the taste and smell would turn your stomach. I’ve had better shrimp from a frozen shrimp ring from krogers. I could understand if it was just my own opinion, but myself and three others I was dining with all were disgusted after one bite. At 22 dollars per order which totaled 3 pieces per order. We unanimously decided to send it back. We were able to send it back. We replaced it with an order of wagyu meatballs. Very tasty, the meatballs and the baguette bread peaked the highlight of my dinner. I myself had the 14 oz New York strip and lobster tail. I ordered the steak to be medium well. I received the steak medium rare, a 90 dollar steak. At this point in time nearly 45 minutes after ordering on what was not a busy night at all. The lobster tail was the size of a piece of cocktail shrimp and very rubbery, needless to say was not worth the 30 dollars at which it was priced at. My brother ordered the 8 oz filet, a 76 dollar steak. He ordered it to be medium, what he received was a steak that was only seared on top and bottom the inside of the cut was completely rare. His only highlight of the dinner was the truffle fries and baguette bread. My sister in law had the 8oz filet as well with the Mac and cheese and asparagus. Her steak was equivalent to one that would be ordered from Applebees. Definitely not a 76 dollar steak. The asparagus was very chewy and definitely not what you would expect from a fine dining establishment. Her highlight was the Mac and cheese and baguette bread. My mother had the chicken breast and loaded baked potato. While she said it was not bad, but it wasn’t nothing better than one from Texas Roadhouse. Finally at the end of a terribly bad dining experience. We decided to order some dessert to take home. Our fine dining server who had this rude arrogance all night proceeded to tell us we could not order it to go. When questioned why, we were told he would have to talk to his manager. Completely odd! Needless to say we had to order the pieces of cheesecake and have them served to us. At that exact time they were served we immediately asked for them to be boxed for us, without taking a bite. We couldn’t understand why we had to go through that for the same result in which we had ordered in the first place. Outside of the baguette bread, truffle fries and wagyu meatball appetizers it was the most horrible 600 + dollar meal plus tip I’ve ever had. One highlight was the dining servers assistant who was taking care of plates, silverware and refreshments. She was fantastic, very friendly and accommodating and apologetic for nothing that she was accountable for. Maybe it was a bad night, I don’t know. But for over $600 for four people to eat, my expectations were far greater then what was delivered. Honestly and not over exaggerating. I’ve had better meals and service at Golden Corral. Very dissatisfied, very disappointing for such an expensive dinner from a world renowned...
Read moreI was shocked to see that there was a Gordon Ramsay Steak just a couple of hours away from me. I had just eaten at the Gordon Ramsay Steak in Las Vegas a couple months ago and it was perfect, so it was time to see how the Caesars in Southern Indiana measured up.
From the outside, the glass was opaque, and you couldn’t see through the restaurant which added a mysterious vibe to it - driving two hours to come to this restaurant after the food I experienced in Vegas, I was pumped.
I believe walking in, the dining room was pretty, simple. My server was Dani - Who was an absolute rockstar. There wasn’t a moment that she wasn’t perfectly timed and on her game and was intuitive and perfect all around. She had great recommendations and was just awesome energy from start to finish.
When I told a member in the casino, I was going to dinner here, he recommended the London fog which is a smoked old-fashioned, but Gordon Ramsay style. Vanilla bitters, smoked on Cherrywood, and smooth as can be. Dangerous and a perfect old-fashioned.
The hot oysters had lobster and prawns on them and flavor was unreal.
Next course was a hot duck, which was a duck leg elevated and inspired by Nashville hot chicken on a corn purée. Flavor of the duck itself was good, but the corn purée didn’t necessarily work for me. A little heavy, but overall flavor was great.
The lobster risotto was the same lobster risotto I had at Hells kitchen. Perfect fragrant truffle and creamy Parmesan risotto and the lobster just melted - texture and flavor on-point.
For the main course I had to go with the notorious beef Wellington. I added seared scallops w/ Bearnaise. The Wellington lives up to the hype, seriously. When I was in Vegas, I had an Australian Wagyu rib cap, and we also had the Wellington, all was fantastic, but the Wellington was so exceptional that even though I had it before I had to get it again. Southern Indiana knocks it out of the park.
And lastly, the sticky toffee pudding. Speaking of living up to the hype, this stuff is so good. I could drive two hours for dessert because it is heaven on earth. It was so good when I first had it in Vegas that I ordered it the second night I was there. I’ve been thinking about it ever since and Gordon Ramsay Steak southern Indiana hit the spot.
Excited to come...
Read moreThis was our first time at this location, but not to Ramsay Steak restaurant, so we were in "compare mode". Reservation was super easy to book, plenty of different available times (though it was a Wednesday after all). Seated exactly at our 7:30 reservation time, but near the kitchen. At first, we were slightly confused as there were multiple other open booths. I gotta say honestly, being near the kitchen was a well choreographed show that we enjoyed immensely! Had this been our first dining experience at a Ramsay Steak establishment, we may have felt it infringed on the experience. But since we already knew about the menu options, ect, this really helped the experience become so much more, as we were just enjoying a Wednesday dinner, no special occasion. Our dinner experience extraordinaire, Danielle, did very well (Apologies to the gentleman who assisted her, who's name I can't recall, he did well also). We ordered the Lobster Risotto as an appetizer and each enjoyed a Piccadilly Circus cocktail, both was as expected. She ordered the 8 oz Wagyu Rib Cab and I ordered the 28 oz Porterhouse... and of course couldn't miss out on adding the shrimp. We splurged and shared three sides, Truffle Fries, Mac & Cheese, and Mushrooms. All three sides were spot on! Our cuts of meat were all prepared as ordered and delicious. By this time, there was certainly no consideration of dessert as we had no room left. The delivery time between the appetizer/cocktails and our main course seemed like a snap of a finger, as we took in the well organized precision of the kitchen team's execution of food service! If you have been to Ramsay Steak before, I'd suggest asking for a table near the kitchen action, it'll make the experience! Obviously if this is your first experience, ask for somewhere in normal dining area so you can get the intended first impression of Ramsay Steak! There are alot of less than best reviews on here and while they may be correct in regards to those reviewers experience, our time at Ramsay Steak Caesars Southern Indiana was excellent and I'd recommend a visit for sure. We will be visiting when staying at the...
