Carl’s Jr. — Restaurant in Show Low

I would not recommend the Carls Jr in Show Low.

I worked there for about 5 months and the sanitizer rags were changed maybe 10 times, not to mention the sanitizing solution which is supposed to be changed every 4 hours often went the entire day without being changed even once.

The fries or any of the sides for that matter are an entire scam, I got in trouble more than once for refusing to serve customers cold fries, and more often than not, the portion of fries you receive is based off of how many we had sitting there not what you actually paid for, I was even told by management that for a medium and a large you should fry the same amount.

The store is never mopped at all, yeah technically the store gets mopped but not by anyone who knows what they’re doing, sliding a mop with some water across the floor is not mopping, nobody uses the degreasing solution or actually scrubs the floor, especially in the lobby.

You don’t even want to know what the cheese and sauce looks like, it’s not covered, just left to oxidize in the open air, by the time it’s put on a burger it’s so hard it won’t even bend without breaking, the produce isn’t refrigerated, it’s placed on a heated line and only goes in the cold for 5 hours a day after closing.

The buns are smashed more often than not before they’re even placed in the charbroiler and the potato buns which are supposed to be the deluxe ones are not even kept sealed, they’re hard as a rock upon grabbing one.

The trash was never taken out, so many times it would literally be piled to the ceiling because nobody ever took it out except a former shift lead named Katrina who legally wasn’t supposed to because of an injury. After she left my manager instructed me to lie about my age so that Walmart would let me use the trash compactor.

Order times are not good. This store is constantly understaffed due to poor employee retention and when they do hire, instead of having more people on shift at once they just cut everyone’s hours universally. I’m only 17 and more than once I was made to run the entire store by myself because the two managers were busy either making out in the walk-in fridge or eating Wendy’s in the lobby.

Go buy food from Walmart instead, an entire pound of ground beef is cheaper than a Western Bacon...

First time in Carl's Jr. The menu looked good, and prices were the same as other fast food restaurants. After ordering, I was given a number to place on my table, and they would bring out my food as I ordered it dine in. I noticed the tables and chairs were not clean. I told the staff member, and she politely came out and wiped off a table I wanted to sit at. I waited about 10 minutes and she brought out my and another customer's orders. I asked for napkins and ketchup, as these items are not available without asking, which I thought was a little odd. I did observe other customers waiting for their to-go items for a little longer than usual for fast food.

The sandwich and fries were very good! The lettuce and tomato were fresh. The bun held together nicely, which was nice after eating down the street at a nice House restaurant where the bun fell apart in my hands. Towards the end of my meal, I observed the manager being called over to another table where an older couple was dining. I overheard the man complaining about his burger and kept hearing the word Black Angus. I thought to myself, this is fast food, not a fancy steakhouse. I refilled my fountain drink and happily left. Food was awesome. Finding a carls Jr has been hard since leaving California, so I was excited to find one in Show Low. Got 2 bacon westerns and a waffle fry last week that was made perfectly and was nice and hot. Best part was the deal they had, $1.99 Westerns on Wednesdays? HELL YEAH! Carmelita and Desirae were so friendly and made sure everything was beyond expectation…Carmelita made the prettiest and tastiest Oreo shake I’ve gotten at any Carls! And whoever the cook in the back was (I didn’t catch his name) made a helluva burger. Perfect save to onion ring ratio. Thank you to the Carls crew for making my experience feel like I was back home (but with WAY better service...
