Louisiana Smokehouse — Restaurant in Shreveport

This place came highly recommended. Drove up. Nice music playing. Cashier greeted with a smile. Placed order. Then....The gentleman fixing plates was sweating bullets, did not wash his hands, pulled brisket out of warmer wearing NO gloves. Grabbed ribs with the same bare hands and never put on gloves. Used the same knife to cut both. He then walked over to pit to put sides of Jambalaya and beans on plate, still wearing no gloves. There was no hand sanitizer or anything for cleaning in sight. The Jambalaya was mushy and stuck together. The potato salad looked store bought. I was highly disappointed after hearing good things about this place, but I wasn't going to be able to eat from here. It was the lack of cleanliness that would be the cause of me not returning. Touching warmer doors, pit handles, the table, then grabbing food, all with bare hands is a big NO. If the sanitization was up to par, I would probably give them a second chance as everyone and every place has an off day. These bad habits looked common place, and that's not good. You never know who the customer in line might be. Therefore, such places should treat each order as if someone from the health department was ordering it. Ordered the Sweep the Smokehouse special after making a joke about wanting to order everything. And I feel like I got EVERYTHING on this plate. Ribs, hot link, brisket, chicken wings, and sausage along with potato salad and beans. All of the meats were tender and delicious and the sides were a perfect compliment. I'll be eating on this plate for at least 3 days because it was so packed with food that it wouldn't close. And to make sure my back was properly bigged I decided I couldn't pass on the cake that was looking at me while i was looking at it. It did not disappoint.

Order this when you have no where else to go for the day. After you eat half you'll absolutely need to loosen you pants and get comfy.

Pulled up, they were open! Been trying to catch them for a year now! Cool Mark owns the spot but he wasn't there that day. Ordered the rib plate... It was heavy when I got it! Loaded with ribs, baked beans, potato salad and 2 slices of bread. The sauce was different, in a good way lol it's thick not runny; sweet, but a Lil kick 🌶️ to it Just Perfect! The meat was tender.
