When I visit an establishment I normally base my visit off of reviews and what others are saying. Being this establishment had high reviews and a lot of positivity my better half and I decided to eat from here.
I attempted to order online, but ordering was offline, however the prices shown online should have been consistent with prices at the location. The online option was 27.80, which is the same price I paid at the location. After purchase and spending the correct amount the cashier suddenly said "Oh, I forgot to charge you for the egg rolls" and demanded $2 in which I replied that I just paid for them. She was adamant she didn't charge.
Now, I'm not worried about the $2 I paid over the final price I should have paid. It was only $2. What I'm more upset about is the principle of the matter.
After giving her the money she just set it to the side and didn't put it into the register. This was a huge red flag for me and frankly I feel is quite shady. Also, with that issue, there were no taxes applied to each egg roll (which were supposed to be $0.99 each and at 12% tax in Sikeston Mo. should be $1.11 each for a total of $2.22). Because of this shadiness, I even told her she's not going to get a good review for this and walked out.
To make matters worse as I was leaving the establishment, their cooks were messing around the dumpster with one cook jumping inside of it trying to compact it down. What bothered me the most is how they were wiping their hands after messing with the dumpster on their aprons, which I'm pretty dang sure they wipe their hands on while cooking. This was disgusting to see and frankly I'm appalled at this.
However, I already paid for my food and left so we did eat the food. Now, as for the food I can say that the prices for the quantity / quality was well worth it. The food was flavorful and very good even though it may have been cooked with dumpster hands.....
The ONLY reason why I'm giving this a 1 star and not a 3 star is the way the purchase was handled by the cashier and dumpster hands on...
Read moreI craved a Chinese buffet, and the food, for the most part, delivered. I feel like that and the cleanliness are the main things. The general chicken could have been spiced at all, but the chicken sticks and the spiced slices of chicken they had were delicious and overdelivered. The price is very customer friendly with four dine-in buffets running us $31. The chocolate ice cream dispenser has something wrong with it and barely puts out anything, but the swirl in the middle puts out plenty of both chocolate and vanilla. This is just a minor complaint though. I was pleased to see plenty of boxes of gloves to use while handling the tongs. However, I definitely feel like how loose they are on enforcing masks (which is a business' right) was lacking BIG TIME. Hardly anyone wore any, and it's Mother's Day. It's packed like a can of sardines in there with hardly anyone wearing masks. Now, I have to be realistic and base most of my rating off of the food, which was mostly good, but the lack of masks and it still being exactly the same as the Ryan's that preceeded it in that lot do hurt this rating. If you go purely off of food and price and are not at all concerned for you and your loved ones getting sick during this pandemic, this is a great spot. However, for me personally, I think I am done with crowded areas for a while. I thought Cape was bad, but apparently Sikeston doesn't belive in science whatsoever. 🤷🏼♂️ Oh well. Maybe I'll come back once the pandemic and the crazy allergies going on right now with weather...
Read moreThis is hands down one of the best Chinese buffets I have ever visited. The Mongolian grill experience was phenomenal, from selecting the ultra-fresh vegetables, meats, and seafood, to choosing the sauces and seasonings (with plenty of helpful advice if needed) to the masterful cooking done right in front of your eyes. I selected a combination of broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, and onions and then added tender thinly sliced beef, fresh shrimp, and real scallops, and seasoned it all with fresh garlic, hot chili oil, Mongolian sauce and a splash of sesame oil, and the chef asked me if I wanted it cooked with rice, which he cooked all together. It was an amazingly satisfying entrée. The items on the buffet were fairly typical, although much fresher. Everything on the salad bar was crisp and fresh. The sushi selection looked good, but I honestly didn't have room to sample any. The service was fast and friendly, and never pushy. If I had ordered the meal I enjoyed at almost any other establishment, it would have run me about $45, so I was blown away when the check was only $13, and I made sure to tip the staff well for providing such great service and a clean environment. Thank you to everyone there for making a weekday dinner...
