I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was truly disappointing and warrants a serious note.
From the moment we were seated, the service was abysmal. The server was clearly untrained and completely unfamiliar with the restaurant’s own menu — unable to answer basic questions, and visibly confused about ingredients and options. It felt as if they were thrown onto the floor without a minute of training.
Worse yet, their English was poor to the point where it directly interfered with our order. We had to repeat ourselves multiple times, and even then, dishes were brought to the table incorrectly — not once, but twice. This wasn’t a simple mistake, it was a total breakdown in communication and competence.
The attitude was apathetic at best. No apology for the mistakes, no effort to correct them promptly. On top of all this, the kitchen and service pace was painfully slow. It took an unacceptable amount of time to get even basic items. For a restaurant that charges standard prices, I expect a minimum level of professionalism — this was nowhere close.
This felt less like a hospitality experience and more like a training ground for people who simply aren’t ready to work in this industry. It’s unfortunate, because the food might be decent — but any potential enjoyment was completely overshadowed by the lack of care and competency in the service.
I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a remotely pleasant or professional...
Read moreTwo of us arrive for dinner and were ignored, there were only three other people in the place . My friend got yelled at for cooling off his guitar that he had brought in with him because it was hot outside . I ordered broccoli and beef, I got broccoli and some kind of meat . DEFINITELY NOT BEEF! It was spongy, permeated with fat, (not veined like beef) it didn't taste or look like any beef or meat for that matter, I'd ever had. When I told the server it was bad, and I didn't want it because it wasn't an edible, they insisted that I pay for it anyway because that's what I ordered. I tried to explain to them that I'm not going to pay for food that I can't eat because they didn't prepare it properly. Then they had the gall to offer me a discount !!! I told him unless it was a hundred percent discount I wasn't interested. Then some of the other people working there started pointing and yelling in Chinese, and seemed to indicate that I would not be charged. I left first ,my friend came out behind me and they tried to charge him for my bill ! of course he refused to pay it also for the same reason, we won't be back! AND they don't have duck or orange sauce.... What Chinese restaurant doesn't have duck sauce?? They had a selection of three other types of sauces, that were surely straight-up...
Read moreI ended up in Silver City due to an unavoidable travel issue. The visitor center suggested I try this restaurant as one of the better Asian places in town. (I’m vegan, and it being a Monday, nothing else remotely vegan was open in town except Asian restaurants.)
I got three kinds of vegan sushi rolls, and the sweet potato roll was excellent! The veggie spring rolls were also good/typical.
Unfortunately, two things happened that turned me off. First, I was sat at a booth between two other groups, both of whom were coughing and sneezing the whole time. I asked to move to the bar to sit, and moved myself. Second, I hadn’t eaten all day, so I ordered some veggie curry to take back to my hotel. I put the bag in the fridge and opened it a bit later on to discover the color of the curry was off. I had asked for a Thai green curry, but this looked more yellow/orange. And the sauce itself was, um, clumpy. And tasted weird. Like it was made with powered curry mix and thick coconut cream and neither had been mixed or thinned enough. I had a few bites and threw the rest away.
The staff were nice tho, and the sushi was very good. I’d go back and get that. And maybe ask which curry...
