Cracker Barrel Pub — Restaurant in Simsbury

TL:DR - Great local bar. Excellent food, great specials, super down to earth.

Wife and I went as my sister in law lives nearby. Interior is very roomy with a bar side, resturant side, and a big patio. Its just the right amount of random decor and older/local decorations to make it feel welcoming and gracefully worn in. On a weekday night, the bar itself was near full of locals and a few people at tables here and there. Waitresses are quick to the table.Tap list is very extensive for a seemingly hole in the wall venue. Its easy to feel relaxed and it seems almost like your closer to being at a fiends basement than an actual restaurant. Food was great with thick burger cooked to order with good options for sides. Soon everything on the plate was gone. We liked it so much, we came back two days later with the in-laws and they enjoyed it too. Its only 4 star as the seating can be a bit random with a "desk"-ish seating first night and a booth the next that was a little cramped. I think i know why most regulars...

The Cracker Barrel Pub is a surprisingly good restaurant. I assume their main business is the bar but they have a nice size separate seating section and a complete menu. The food is quite good and consistently so. They also have a large outdoor patio and deck for outdoor seating which is shaded by huge trees. I've never had to wait for a table and in good weather always sit outside. They make a great cheeseburger several different ways along with other dinner choices. The prices are reasonable. Street parking is available in front and there is a parking lot out back. Give them a try. I know I'll be back.

Update : They are open for outdoor dining and it's excellent. We had their fish and chips and smoked Brisket. Both were very good. I had the brisket...

I go back and forth with feeling like this place is a four or five star. My wife and I have had several different items on menu and all of them have been good to great. Our service typically has been above-average to awesome. They have quite a few selections on tap to choose from and everything is reasonably priced. Probably my only serious complaint about this place is a poorly designed men's room which is odd at the very least. If you're a guy and you've been inside of this men's room you know exactly what I'm talking about. I guess considering all the positive things about this place I can overlook that part.
