Found this gem while driving toward Mount Baker and decided to stop in the small town of Skykomish. The town itself is charming with a railroad running right through the center, and Sky River Coffee fits perfectly into that vibe.

I needed to attend a meeting and this spot was ideal. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with Wi-Fi, which worked great. I chose to sit outside since it was nice and chilly, sipping hot coffee while working, and it was perfect.

The coffee was excellent and the desserts we tried were just as good. What stood out even more was the people working there. They were kind, helpful, and even suggested places to check out nearby. It felt like more than just a café — it gave off such a welcoming and happy atmosphere that you just want to sit and enjoy for a while.

They also had some cucumbers for dogs outside 🥹 If you’re anywhere near this area, Sky River Coffee is a must-stop, not only for the drinks but also for the charm of the town and the warm hospitality.

In the summer of 2021, after years of driving past the short turnoff from US2 that crosses the river to Skykomish, my wife and I finally decided to check out the town. We were blown away by the beauty of its setting. And as people who love trains, the BNSF main line running right through the middle of town was a wonderful surprise. And Sky River Coffee was the cherry on top! It exudes the charm of its surroundings and offers great coffee and tasty bagels and other treats served, on that day, by a welcoming, attentive young lady behind the counter. It's a wonderful gathering place where it's easy to meet people and have stimulating conversation. We live a hundred miles away, in Anacortes, but Skykomish, the railroad, and Sky River Coffee constantly beckon. Much to our regret, we haven't been back since, but we know that one day soon we'll head there for the rare pleasure of a great cup of coffee among friendly people and surrounded by a spectacular landscape. Hopefully, we'll see a train or...

I think the main appeal here is that this is a real coffee shop, with a real espresso machine, in a tiny cute town. We have been here twice for our coffee fix while road tripping. It's a great place for a book, and there is a toy area if you have kids. The only reason I take away a star is because, in my opinion, the coffee is good not great. I've tried their drip as well as their lattes. Taste is subjective (I prefer very light roasts), and this is better than anything else nearby. Also, I suspect the pastries are from Costco. Regardless, Sky River Coffee Is great for a quaint town, but it's not like a hipster Seattle sort of coffee shop. That's part of its charm, I suppose. And we will definitely keep...

Have come in here a couple times now but Used the shop as an office for a morning before the slopes. Managed to get a lot done while enjoying the energy of locals. The owner knows how to make a good London fog (a lot of baristas in the US don’t know how) and even put a Large group on the opposite end of where I was working, which is not expected but appreciated. She has the gift of gab and is hilarious. Good stop to stretch legs en route to stevens or Leavenworth. They don’t have any allergy free listed items, but they do have a variety of baked goods. Looking forward to next visit already, whether working remote or stopping by with friends.
